I can help the wing wag if you are slightly nose heavy. Not for 3-D, but we run 1/4" CROW for landing

I see that several people are using two gyros in their Mephisto. I don't want to start the usual brand war Cortex vs. iGyro discussion, but both gyros should be able to handle all flight surfaces and the vector just fine. So I can only assume that this has something to do with flight modes and being able to split the vector from the rest of the plane. Who can enlighten me please?

Running tailerons with a PB unit, it’s easier to set up, but mainly one of my friends had the idea of using 4x mode on a 3e ( slow flying model set up) on the vector, it hovers completely hands off

The CARF Mephisto was well represented at the recent JMA Buckminster event:-

The word is mine is arriving this coming Friday 10/19/18! Yay! Looking forward to it. It is a slightly modified stock scheme with a gloss finish and Metallic Orange. Here a few pics they shot before they boxed and shipped it....

Still gotta sort out power package though....

Lookin' good! What's your opinion of the build quality so far?

Craig

PS: Pretty hi-tech workshop you have there.

The build quality on this looks excellent! Finish is also really good! Everything slid together perfectly and a tone of work if done for you.. gear doors already hinged, most all servo mounts installed.... all formers and interior parts done, canopy mounted.....

unfortunately not my workshop! Lol! It actually is a good friends new “machine shop” to support a high end printing company. It is basically the ultimate shop! Every high end machine you could dream of! That granite table is level to I believe 1/1000”! It is solid granite and weighs literally 6000lbs! Lol!

David, any more info on the Powerbox setup?
Like many I’m running a mercury, tried a few things but somethings incorrect with my config.
Are the below assumptions correct?

Flight mode 1 - gyro off
flight mode 1 (vector disabled) - 15% gain, heading hold mode, ailerons and elevator
flight mode 2 (vector enabled) - 15% gain, dampening mode on ailerons and elevators, Vector 100% gain, heading hold, vector elevator and rudder

With your previous statement, did you mean run mercury as normal and put a 3e with 4x mode purely on vector?

Gain values are mostly personal preference, but 15% is very low. I have found that 30-40% on ail, ele and rud are the optimum for me. Vector can be dialed up to 70-80% if you use it at lower speeds only. But do NOT use heading hold on any other surface than ailerons!!! Especially not on vector!!!
