Got The Boca bearings inbound today or to morrow so i can swap them out.

And just as an protective measure i put one of these in between the nose gear servo and my receiver.
It should protect against a short, so better safe then sorry one i suppose ...

Hopfully i get her ready somewhere this week (if the kids leave me in peace )

Check, just found out where they hide

Swapped out the bearings in the nose gear, quite some fiddle with "off-shore" hands

Thanks for the heads up Thumbler, sorry you had to go through the pain of breaking them first.
But it's wise to swap them in advance i guess, cause indeed, the stock ones break already by looking at them

Proud new owner. It looks great in person and comparable in overall size to a flash but sooo lightweight. Got the PNP version but unfortunately won't be able to start on it anytime soon because of moving.

All the "internal's" are done

Now only the small bits to do, gear covers/doors, battery tray in the nose, CG and programming.

I'm almost there

Got lucky today! About three minutes into the flight the motor shut off and fortunately I was able toCircle the field and land on the runway. Try to restart the engine on the ground and no luck so I tested the pump with the fuel line disconnected and I’m getting no fuel to the engine so I am assuming I have a bad pump unless somebody has more experience with these things and can give me an idea what it might be.

Hi Tumbler,

Just a thought from my side....

Did you check that thin red and black wire that goes to valve on the pump?
That wire to me looks very delicate and there might be a break there due to "flapping about" over time??
Check it for continuity with a multimeter i would say....

But again, just a thought ...

Cheers,

Ed

Thanks for the idea Ed. I should have mentioned that he pump actually makes a high pitch noise likenits trying to run and the motor is stuck and can’t turn.

Ready for maiden.

Hope to get it done to morrow or Tuesday.

One question, what do you guy's do with the battery that goes in the gear controller box?
I got no switch in between, so i plug it in straight, but can you leave it there when the rest of the system is not powered up or do i need to pull the plug/connector out?

Cheers,

Ed

I’d pull it out as I guess it will have a small constant draw

My maiden is delayed i think

For some reason my servo's freeze when i flik a switch?
It's the McGregor servos witch are in the PNP version in combination with futaba.
If i flik the flap switch sometimes the servo just or, does not go in to the crow position or does not come out it?
When i then slightly touch the stick it comes back alive normal??
Same if i flick to dual rate, sometimes one of the servo's freezes in the old position ..??
Other strange things if you look close to the video, if i let go of the stick, both elevator servo's start to flap in opposite direction???

This is the weirdest I've ever came across ...

any suggestions?

Every thing runs smooth and free and in servo test mode every thing works flawless.....

Cheers,

Ed

How far should the k85 nozzle be placed from the pipe face?

Well i'm totally confused now.

just by experimenting with the above issue, i thought it might be an idea to swap out receivers.
So i went from an 7014 back to an old 6014 and from 7.4V back to 6V cause the 6014 does not like 7.4V.

guess what......

All problems solved........

I'm completely lost in space now, but the good thing, Maiden to morrow

Have you tried the different modes that the receiver can do?
