I will talk with them. Thinking about it I do know a Futaba guy who bought these servos, he’s on Holiday, but will find out if he had any issues.

I fly futaba and have the joker with the mcgregor servos and a 6014 rx plus a sensor switch from power box, no a single issue on mine...

OK, tail is finished and I've started on the 'horrible' jobs. Canopy glass trimmed and dropped in and tray coated second time.
On the tails I found the covers slightly thick for the recess, so I used my belt sander to thin the edges. I also used a ball link to cover the angular hinge line.

Anyone using futaba rx and stock servos should put a gyro in to improve the servo issue.
ive experimented with two of these planes, different receivers and gyros.
demon cortex can be changed to 333mhz for servo output to match the McGregor servos and it dramatically reduces the issue.
Also powerbox mercury set to 12ms seemed perfect.

Interesting... i’m using a 6014hs futaba rx on my joker with the mc gregor servos and a cortex pro, the other day i had a glitch on the rudder with the gyro On, could it be because of what you are saying?

I've found that if you literally flick one of your radio sticks it can pretty much cause the servos to not recentre and make a binding sound, as per the other video above.

If you connect the demon to your PC and change the servo type to digital 333mhz it dramatically improves it. Your servo glitch out is likely the same cause.

I've tried on a Mercury and it was flawless but the igyro still exhibts the same issues and the PC software to change to 12ms I couldn't get working.

Finally I order one (RED) PNP version
I need some advice on power , 80-100 is better but can you fly the Joker with a 60 size turbine?

Yes, it flies with a 60N turbine. You have to wind it up, but you will still have decent aerobatic performance...as long as you are not at altitude!

I will take the VT80 from the Rookie 2 and install in the Joker and look for a 100-120 for replacement

Sounds like a good plan. This week I’m finally back on mine, hoped it would be ready for this weekend, but it’s not looking good as I have not touched the wings yet.

Still grabbing moments on my Joker, JetCat P-100Rx is installed, back end finished, I'm working on the install, but still not touched the wings, so it will have to wait until after JP next weekend.
I made a mount for the MAP bubble trap from a balsa wedge, coated with epoxy and sprayed grey like the fuse.

Managed to test fly the Joker today at a very windy Classic Jets event. Totally event free and three following flights with the Powerbox Gyro at 20% on all surfaces
(I did not bother doing a full set up, just manually added the 20%
P-100Rx is perfect for me, never used full power at any point in the flights.
Great model that handled the conditions perfectly. I was 11.00pm last night finishing it, so no shots yet. It was all a rush after recovering from JP!

As Dave said it handled the blustery conditions really well.

AP

Great shots as usual, good to get it flown, typical CARF, not a peep of trim and my guessed flap/elevator set up was just about spot on-I did add 2% more down on full flap after the third flight.
recharged the cells, 290-300mAh on each Rx pack and 670 on the ECU

The 90RXI won’t fit! It’s too large dia. Really 102mm mm is as large as you want to go.

That will work. Don’t think the idle thrust on the VT-80 is a problem like some of the options

Nice to see some great builds here. I just ordered mine. Can’t wait for her to come. I plan to put a K70 in her and fly off asphalt as well as grass runway. Guys let me know if there would be a problem taking of from grass.

Cheers, kekelala

No issues on grass. The small wheels are not a problem as the tyre is also narrow, so it does not drag too much even in long ish grass. We test flew Mark's
Joker from winter grass.

Hoped to fly the Joker again today, no setting up was possible on Friday, but rained non stop :-(
Few static shots before I pull it apart for storage. I like the fact it goes in my Transit Custom van fully rigged, so a lot of the time it will stay in one piece.
