HSD blower for cooling down turbine
I stumbled across this while searching eBay (couldn't sleep).
Looked interesting, so I bought it.
Heat Dissipation Radiator Fire Extinguisher For HSD Turbine RC Planes Model
Arrived promptly and safely from Hong Kong. The box and packaging was impressive...I wish planes were packed as nicely as this was.
It's a big piece of EPO foam with an EDF, ESC, variable speed trigger and a battery compartment with Deans (T) connector
Very light, lots of airflow (I tried it on a 4s, only really need a 3s to cool down a turbine)
Its nice since it uses any available RC LiPo. No need to bring another charger or battery type.

Here's the cordless/electric blower I got recently for $99:

58 volts, brushless motor, echo quality, etc. ...unfortunately it's a beast. To be fair, I got it for what it's made for, but found the lovely benefit of being able to actually blow out my garage - it's never stayed so clean (just don't hit the work bench full-force). It also has PLENTY of "oomph" to put out an internal fire, but I'd imagine way too big for anyone to lug around.
The Makita is still ABOUT the best option going so far, but Rigid makes a neat "job site blower" as well. About same price.:

So - size/price and batteries I've already got - will be getting the little Rigid. You aren't going to wear out the brushed motor and charging one of the more recent blowers SHOULD last you most of the day.

I've been using the Ryobi One+ blower for years.
I blew up the original (GASP!) blowing leaves out of the gutters, and just purchased a new one for $59.00
On all of these things, I throw their cheap battery and retrofit with an inexpensive ZIPPY LiPo, with balance taps out the side of the battery case. Have yet to ruin a battery this way :-)

Ryobi 18-Volt ONE+ Compact Blower-P755 - The Home Depot
I got it and the battery for under $100 with a recent sale. It works good.

The Makita is no where to be found in local stores, which explains why I could never find one I guess..... lol

whichever one you use, you need blower wind speed if you use it for putting out a fire..
The blower is by far the most effective fire fighting tool available.. It will put out a tail pipe fire right now with no damage.. it will put out an exploded motor with fuel burning inside the jet.. It happened to me.. I had the fire out in 10 seconds. I put a brush fire out with mine once. a few crashes too.
My fireman buddy says its like opening your mouth at 90 mph in the wind.. it stuffs the fire.
I cannot recommend having a blower enough for jet flyers.. cheap insurance.
