So, it is in Donauwörth , same place as the Horizon Airmeet.

The date 14. – 16. Sept. 2018

The name JetPower Event

The web site www.jetpowerevent.com

They have bought all rights from the Modellsport Verlag in Baden-Baden

The new event company, JetPower Event GmbH

CEO : Emmerich Deutsch

And importantly, Winnie Ohlgart is next year a special guest, they have called him today and he said YES , he is coming.

Once again the internet hides nothing....
Ah, so it is going to be a private event hosted by Powerbox.

That's like saying the Austrian Gran Prix is a private race run by Red Bull

If driving looks about 8 hours from Calais, easy drive really.

I guess if your a visitor then 8 hours from Calais is manageable, for me its will result in having to add a day either side to allow for this which will make things a tad more uneconomical.

Hopefully the new event will be well organised and the longer journey is worth the extra time and effort.

So why drive?

Easy Jet or BA to Munich, 1hr 30. Flight time, then just over one hour drive to Donauworth, OR Ryanair
( yuk)Luton to Memingen, ditto.,

That said, it's a great drive, sit at 100 ( or more ! ) on the autobahn!

Not in a van with loads of kit on board David, not sure Astom Martin make a van yet, although Sprinter drivers do seem to believe they are only meant to drive in the fast lane!

We are meant to drive in the fast lane! That’s why it’s called a sprinter! I love flashing BMW and Audi drivers out the way on the fast bits
3 hours 45 was our record to JP. But I am with you Marc, it makes the event even more complicated and expensive. Until you have done a show like this you cannot understand the work involved. Being back in the office before 8 on Monday morning was a military exercise and I did it every year for 15 years, I’m too old for 3 hours sleep these days.

i’ll take a view on next year when the time comes, 2019 it’s finished with Brexit anyway.
