Once the frame is built you apply moulded composite panels and fix them in whatever way works, it could even be rivets and screws as there are companies who make tiny screws and rivets. The resulting jet would be close to a true scale jet, 3D printing could make this process more doable but the thought of a jet that you could literally strip panels off to repair or service would be very cool.

Very cool, indeed but mega expensive. It would take almost the same hour count as making the real airframe!
With our new technique, we are getting visually close to this result at a fraction of the cost.

This thread has turned from what’s coming this year to what jets everyone wants lol but hopefully manufacturers will see this thread and listen to what people want and get some ideas for future projects

Oli spot on it would be expensive but its kinda like going back to building a frame and covering it in solartex or that funny thin glass fibre sheet - not saying the internal structure needs to be scale but made in such a way the exterior panels could be removed

With projects like the Seadart from Alex and crew it has to be possible.....

While I'm on line aside of jets what are you guys really wanting in the 'accessory' field to make your jet flying more enjoyable, practical and safe?

Marc I don’t think we need more accessories, it would be nice if vendors would improve current products. I like seeing when a company comes out with version 2,3or4. It shows they care about their product, it would be nice if companies would poll their customer base more as well. The yearly threads that pop up like this right after the New Year are nice but more would be nice.

It's a more or less full carbon kit including carbon main retracts. $$$$ and you get a turn key model......

Interestingly the CAT is still made but for military customers only currently, so maybe it might make a show again in 2018,,,,,,

T-One Models:
F-22, the scale details are off the hook!! We are keeping the pictures under wraps until we have the Fully Tested Production F-22 ready to go.
2.38M Hawk 100 & Short nose Hawk shortly after. Again, the scale details should be above and beyond!!
1.8M F-16 same size as the HSD but will be full Composite, E-Gear, Lights and very price competitive to the HSD Foamy without the foam.
They were asked to make the Chinese JWM Team the J-10 and it will be available to our customers as well.
Lastly they are making a Jet upon our request that is not available yet by anyone and we will keep it under wraps until it is ready to be released. The mold is almost completed and should be ready hopefully in Spring. (Can you say TEASER?)

Aviation Jets:

Some of you have seen the 3.5M SU-35 pictures on our website. They have been flying and testing that jet and it should be released shortly after the Chinese New Year.
2.7M SU-27, released about the same time.
Talks of the SU-37 as well
1/7 A-10, E-gear, ordinance, operational canopy, lights installed, Very scale details as well. Should be a great size A-10 for a pair of the New Small K-85G2's.

Hopefully this gives you guys something to plan for!!

Happy Holidays,

Pacific RC Jets
Hi, Do you have any more information on the 1.8m F-16 that will be coming? Pics, specs, ETA etc? I nearly bought the HSD but not keen on foam, not for a turbine anyway (not as precise, crisp and clean as a good GRP airframe). I would have got another Yellow Aircraft F-16 but obviously they're no longer being made. The 1/6 and larger jets are far too big and expensive for me; I think this one might just get me to open my wallet, sounds good. Thanks!

Portal J-10 should be coming to the USA in 2018. 2.7 Meters long, 1.6 meter wingspan, 180/210N engine specs, thrust vectoring. Will have electric gear and brakes. Built in Thailand, finished in China (Hebei, outside of Beijing). Dealer is finishing them out as kit or PNP to specs so prices vary. Kit with gear estimated for $2800. 3 stock schemes and custom schemes available. Larger than CARF. Not FEJ. These have already been flying in China this past year. Very popular, each batch of kits he gets sells out within a month. There is a waiting list for the next batch. Biggest issue right now is the shipping size is too large.

It’s been pretty quiet on RCU lately and so thought I would bring this thread back up to start up another topic. I’m planning on getting new jet by the end of this year but there isn’t a lot on the market at the moment that really interests me. Are there any new updates from the manufacturers since the thread started at New Years? Are there any new additions to project lists or people know that’s coming out this year?

If you're into sport planes the Elite just came out with the smaller (how great is it that an 85" WS x 101" L plane is the smaller version) Havoc SS and BVM now has the Bandit and Ultra Bandit EVO. I saw both the SS and the Ultra this past weekend in Mississippi and both look like winners. Different kind of flight characteristics, SS is more of a close in, almost 3D type whereas the Ultra is more of a go fast/pattern type flyer. Both present really well and are big while not being too big. Both fly well on a 160 and will be ballistic on a 180 or 200.

It was more scale I was looking for. Got a Havoc SS on order so I’m looking foraward to that. I was wanting to see what PNP Bvm has coming or T-one. Hopefully something different to the market.

These were some pre production models T-One took to the Beijing Expo. We are going into production now and will be taking orders very soon. We are working out the shipping details and will have the pricing posted shortly at PacificRCJets.

Cheers,

Dirk

Stay tuned, we have a few more to be released this year!!!
