Default Mobil DTE light on Frank Turbine or Behotec

Hi,

Anyone using Mobil DTE light, Kingtech oil or Tellus 32 on Frank turbine or Behotec?

My club friend got a Frank and he is not willing to have a new fuel only for this new turbine. So he will use Mobil DTE on it.

Gabriel

I used DTE light mixed at 5%. No problems in 40 flights so far.

DTE Light or DTE 24/32 has been used for years by alot of modelers.. me included, but my source went out of business.
There has been movement away from Caustic oils like Aeroshell 500..etc. I made the switch to Kingtech oil personally. Some run 2 stroke oil, but in the case of 2 stroke oil, it often can coke up unless you run it around 3% depending on which one, amsoil, klotz..etc. some guys mix their own using a base oil of T32 shell.

If you talk to the Kingtech tech guys, they can often tell what oil you run based on the bearing saturation, burn patterns, and coking level. I haven't had a single engine failure since switching to KT oil, so Im sticking with it even though its a little more. I have JetCentral, JetsMunts, and Kingtech motors.

FWIW.. Lots of good options..
