Your Mig is beautiful!

There are only a small portion of warbirds that don't get weathered......Show Teams (like Blue Angels and Thunderbirds) and very light weathering on any LO jets like F22/F117/F35. Everything else gets dirt and grim!

Wow! That mig is incredible!

Imagine the cohones of all the russian pilots that had to fly them. I'd be scared I wouldn't make it back!

One thing is for sure though, we all have different opinions about weathering!

I wouldn't dare fly that POS! Looks like it's going to break apart.

POS of course being a compliment! :-)

Beautiful Mig!

I'm more of a "real time" builder and like to build models that resemble restored aircraft. Being we are not at war like back in W2 I tend to hobby in the now then in the past so for me I don't care for weathering. But to each his own, both are valid.

That there is funny. I flew in F-16, F15, B52, T37, T38, T39, EA6B, C17 over the last 20yrs......not a one was clean and I only flew combat in the B52. They are not as beat up as what you see from the Vietnam type era, but they are not clean and shiny. It's ok to not weather them if that is your preference. Just not as "scale" as a slightly weathered military jet.

Obviously all aircraft were brand new just once so if factory fresh is your thing why not.

But, to me, just a little subtle weathering on models representing brand new aircraft makes them look less toy like.

How do you weather a shiny paint job like CARF Tucano? I'm going to try my first weathering job.

Need some advice. I am building an RAF TBF Avenger. Most of the fuse/bottom of the wings/stab/elevators and rudder/fin are painted "White". How do you weather white paint without pouring a wash all over it and wiping it down after doing so. Rookie here, thanks for the help. A friend suggested use of pastels, thanks Noah. Smile. I have scuffed the surfaces with a Scotch Brite pad to remove the sheen. May allow the pastels to grab the surface better. Thanks. Chic
