Thank you to those who have helped me with this. I reworked the airplane a little and ended up with CG at 157 with tanks empty, UAT full and gear down. Hoping for an uneventful test flight on Saturday if the weather forecast holds.

I have been recently looking at this model. Can anyone tell me how the aileron servo's are hooked up? Does it use the ball links on the side of the fuse?
Thanks,
Tone

That is correct, They have ball ends on the servo horns in the fuselage and the wings/ailerons plug in.

Thank you.

How do the ball links attach to the aileron? Do you happen to have a picture? Is there any slop in the control surface? Are the wings difficult to remove?
Thanks,
Tone

The ball slips into a slot in the aileron root end.

It has no slip and is a very strong connection with very good mechanical advantage along with being hidden.

Any of you F-16 pilots also fly the T-1 Mini? Wondering how she flies in comparison....

This thread seems to be almost dead. I am not finding very many videos of it flying either. Anyone still flying this model?
Thanks,
Tone

Does anyone find their T1 F-16 rudder linkage sloppy?

Seems that the aluminium rod of my rudder pane is not true on its rolling axis, and has caused some slop to occur despite the rudder servo being neutral and not moving.
Wondering if this is a cause of concern for flutter.

There are many of the T-1 F-16's flying, no signs of rudder issues or flutter from any customers. my old one had a tiny bit of normal movement with zero problems. You will have some wiggle simply from the mechanical linkages and gear trains as you know.

Unfortunately RCU does not get the traffic it use to, a lot of people simply just don't post anymore as its to difficult.

I can check the one my son is flying. But its never had any flutter issues and flies fantastic!

Saw a video on RCG from a guy named Ken that made his electric and it looked to fly pretty good.

I just ordered one of these, with a K70, with the gear and doors installed,
I have a question, which servos are you guys using, for the surfaces.

The maiden flight report
this model looks great. I got the thunderbird scheme,
the jet was nose heavy at the recommended cg, I placed all my batteries next to the turbine to get the cg.
I have a K85g2 in it 2x 2200 life for rx, 1 2200 life for the turbine, 1 750mah for the retracts and brakes. the retract battery is the only one in the nose
the take off looked great. on my first turn the nose started to drop, I knew then it was going to be an interesting flight,
i added some up trim, and after a few laps i used rudder to stop the nose from dropping,
now for the landing all three gears are down and when i touched down the nose gear clasped and it srapped off some of the nose door,
I checked the gear and had to fix the nose door hing,
second flight, it flew better but the nose was still dropping, i left the gear down and just did some approaches. on the landing the front gear clasped again,
not good. it didnt do any damage but to the nose wheel.
I must say the jet is pretty fast.

Congrats on the maiden. Yes this plane moves very fast. With a K85 you really don’t need more then half throttle if not less to cruise around normal flight.

did you figure out the nose gear issue? That’s not normal with electric gear.

for the CG i thought we used factory setting. We did move it back and she got tail heavy and was fun to land. When I get her back together at FLjets I’ll check the cg

I Still have not figured out the nose gear issue, I talked to Dirk at Pacific rc jets.,
I think its mechanical, the motor works fine, and I set the nose wheel amps to 2.0 as instructed,
that didn't work,
can some post a few close up pictures of the nose wheel motor mount on the nose retract frame, It might be off and just need to be
tweeked

Simply pull it out of the plane. It only has 4 screws and the wires. Then inspect it. Do you hear it run? I had one that the motor spun inside the housing so it would not move the gear but the motor would run. Look and see if the worm gear is turning. when it runs.

thanks for the response,
the motor works fine, and the worm gear, it has to be some adjustments needed, it looks lke its locked in the down position until you touch it, then it will move.
