Skymaster 1/5 F-16, 1/6 A-10, or 1/6 F-4?
Looking to do a large Skymaster. I know the 1/5 F-16 flies great but I am also curious about the large A-10 and F-4. I need a plane with good presence, flies well, and can comfortably get in about out of a 600' fabric runway. My first choice would be an F-18 but I think it's a bit of a ground hog compared to the other 3 on takeoff.
Anyone with some good first hand info on these models? Thanks!

On the flip side if your ok with something not as scale the BVM F16 and big F18 both would have no problem on that runway.
If you are picky about it being scale then it might not work for you. Skymaster scale wise looks much better. The trade off is they are allot heavier. Think I herd the F16 is a 10 pound difference.

The BVM is a good bird. As for scale look, put it next to a SM 1/5 and the difference is fairly significant as far as detail and fuse diameter (BVM is wider) is probably the biggest thing I see as different. Also, the SM gear looks very scale, while the BVM is smaller in strut diameter, etc. I have flown my SM for 3 years now and really enjoy it but 600ft is too tight IMO, for this one. Sounds like you need more "what can work" than "what looks correct" anyway. Kris (Gunradd) is right, from what I can tell there is a 10-12 lb difference in weight. You can knock some weight out on SM with a single fuel cell but then you aren't flying very long. Barry Hou with Kingtech flies a SM 1/5 F-16 and his takes off on a really short roll out. Maybe a 310N does that. I am flying mine with a JetCat 200Rx. Check with Barry...I'd say he is airborne in 400ft.

SM 1/6 A-10
- Land and take off on nearly any runway especially petromat
- Scale or ability to be scaled out more. SM has full ordinance packages makes it look like a beast.
- Flexible, push it was a couple of 100's or 140's or HST-94's if you want to fly anywhere anytime (keep exhaust tube near 100% FSA) with near drop in install.
- Show stopper presence in the air.
- Most forgiving on landings
