Default Ultra Bandit

Flew my Ultra Bandit after almost 18 months. This thing is really something else. It used to fly with an AMT Olympus. Just swapped that with a Rhino 200 SE.. and wow... the plane is lighter and may I say faster... Love the Olympus, but this rhino really pushes it hard. The oly will now ingo to a super scale bird, perhaps it really does belong in a much larger airplane.

Here is a short video of last weeks flight.

I think I want another UB

I am seriously considering getting another one as well... But an unpainted white original classic USA made version. I am told the EVO version has a lot of chinese stuff in it. Is that true?

Great to see that it went well with the Rhino!!!!

Regarding the EVO: it is made in the Florida factory, so you should expect the same quality. It is built lighter (like 8 pounds ligher or so). I have not had the chance to fly it yet, but all i hear is that it flies amazing.

And you can ask BVM to install your own servos if you prefer over the Spark servos that are on the PNP;s that come from the factory in China.

Having a Classic UB in your fleet, I would choose the EVO to have something slightly different

Good luck
Jack

Since they're all completely built and painting in the BVM shop in Florida, I highly doubt it. The servos are probably made in China, but then so are all the servos from most major brands these days. After seeing the Evo fly at Best in the West along side my own classic Ultra, I have ZERO hesitation or reservations about getting one. It's built extremely well, and weighs EIGHT POUNDS less than mine.

Anurag, the landing gear has been redesigned to make it lighter.

Dunno, looks like they are working fine. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. I’m looking forward to it.

The gear uses a trailing link design now.. The biggest advantage of this is it soaks up the bumps very nicely on less than perfect runways.
