Default Jet fuel (diesel) in electronics

Hi,

I had a fuel leak in one of my jets, and the nose wheel steering servo and the PowerBox Sensor Switch got som Jet Fuel in them. I've opened the parts, and I've cleaned them with paper towels. They seem to work as good as new. I could use some aerosol based electronics cleaner on them as well.

Would you use the equipment, or would you change them?

Thanks!

I would use an electronics cleaner to clean the board. You can also use isopropyl alcohol or even clean water with detergent, as long as you let it *completely dry* before powering it up again. Once its cleaned and dry, it should be fine.

I would use either the alcohol or electronics cleaner to clean them, take the servo apart and clean it inside and then lube the gears. The electronics cleaner and alcohol are both non corrosive, and will evaporate leaving no residue behind. Water IS corrosive to electronics and the detergent may be corrosive. The detergent will leave a residue. many detergents are also electrically conductive. The last thing you want to add is a conductive possibly corrosive residue.

I would not hesitate to clean and use these parts.

Thank you both!

I'll get some electronics cleaner, re-lube the servo after cleaning it, and continue to use the parts.

Also be careful with wires/cables if they get fuel. The plastics can get hard and crack over time
