There are plenty of people who don't mind the panel lines, in fact some prefer a little justifiable exaggeration in a model and will become very happy modelers especially when they start to fly one.
Hey Barry, not trying to to make a stink just wanted to pass an easy option to the over exaggerated panels. An easy fix for people that may not like this would be to make some small thin carbon type inserts for the current molds. This would remove the panel height and still give the line while preventing a new mold, plus you can remove the plate from the mold once completed for the folks who may like the exaggerated panels. I would love to make this a retirement gift for myself, if they could do this I would be all for it and even pay for the materials required for the inserts. Cheers and Merry Christmas to you, Dirk and your families!

Yes, that's entirely doable, but according to Dirk, Kim is listening (again) and considering modifying once more, guess we'll see.
Merry Christmas to you and your family too Keith!

Awesome, a manufacture that listens is a sign of a great company!

I took some video yesterday of Barry flying our F-22 Prototype. I would guess there was a steady 15-20 mph wind gusting to 30 mph. You can hear the wind but the F-22 was very stable the entire flight, even when Barry did a few high Alpha slow fly-by's. If you look close around the 5:20 minute mark you can see Barry opening the bomb doors on the fly by.

I also should add for those concerned about flight time, We have a Pair of K-160's pushing the F-22 and this video is from take off to parking at my feet for a total of 9 minutes 20 seconds with fuel to spare at shut down.

Cheers,

Dirk

Good you guys post this video so maybe some of the skeptics will change their minds, this is cool jet in prototype stage so all could be fixed but the most important thing is that the jet flying super and stays solid on the high g turns wish to have the money now I would order one for my f-22 collection .

I think the only issue was the over sized panels and price, nobody has said anything about quality unless I missed something. I think the price is good for this size and if the quality is like the EF then its a much better deal than others this size for sure. It has great air presence due to the size and seems to fly nice even in wind.
After my current build would love to do a build thread on something that doesnt require anything but final assembly

Thanks for the video. What is the wet weight with the two K-160s?

This is a video from the 1st flight of the day when the wind was much calmer. I didn't get the take off or 1st few minutes as Barry couldn't wait to get the F-22 in the air and left with out the camera man....If you watch from around 4 minutes to 5 minutes, Barry is flying the whole time with the bomb doors open and F-22 is still very stable like they weren't even open at all. You can also see how well this large jet will slow down for landing. We are flying off a 500' runway and Barry is only using half of it.

Cheers,

Dirk

Hi David,

We are planning on taking it out again on Sunday and I will bring a scale along and weigh ours ready to fly. Keep in mind this is the 1st prototype and the factory has made a lot of changes already but it should be close.

Hey Dirk, are they going to do thrust vectoring like the early photos as well? Thanks Happy New Year bud!

It is still the same thrust vector nozzles but they have changed it from 4 servo's to 2 servos. So they will no longer open wide or shut down closed, but you will have full vector capabilities. There are so many operational features on this jet you almost need 2 radio's to control everything, LOL

I am getting too old for many challenges, so must keep it simple. Looking forward to seeing the F-22 performance in person.
