Default Any starjet kits left out there?

Thought I'd see. I just purchased an old AMT Mercury and thought the old aviation design starjet would be the perfect airframe for it. AD hasn't made the kit in a very long time so asking here.
there was another jet called a sagitarrio I believe which was as best I could tell a pretty close copy of the starjet. I'd be interested in either one although having had an exocet I definitely like the wing that was shared between the exocet and starjet.
thanks!

Jan I would consider it depending on the cost. If it was surface it might not be horrific. I'm in no rush. I'll send you a PM. I bought an exocet years ago direct from aviation design and surface shipping was only around $100 from France to Canada.

I remember flying one many years ago on the small jet engines. Great fun flying. Good luck with your search

Isn’t a Mercury too large for the Starjet?

Far too big, too powerful and too heavy.

Default I beg to differ...

Not a chance, it is a perfect combination - flew mine for many years and had many hours of great fun. No bad habits, no issues - neither with the airframe or the Mercury.

Cheers,

If that is your experience, so be it!
I flew my two with JPX 260 and Wren Supersport which I thought was at the limit of what the airframe could handle, with flutter onset being a worry.
It also needed a chunk of lead in the nose, I assumed a heavy mercury would need an even bigger lump.
Mine needed a lot of flap and crow to slow for landing and was quite difficult to see endon it was so slim.

They flew beautifully.

How much bigger and heavier could a mercury possibly be than an old jpx? This is an old mercury too, 1998, only 15.5lbs thrust.

So I just looked and the mercury is 440 grams heavier than the supersport. .4" bigger diameter, 1" shorter (this is an airstart engine so no starter motor engine can is longer but overall shorter) and 2.5lbs less thrust. This is a 1998 Mercury, not a mercury hp.

Looking it up it seems the JPX 260 was bigger diameter, longer, and heavier than the mercury as well.

The Sagittario was designed by Zanin of Italy, originally for a pulse jet. It preceded the Starjet by a fair few years. It was a popular mount for the JPX's at the time.

I remember seeing two of them at Top Gun 1994 at Westonzoyland. Dave Gladwin had a yellow/red one and Jon Palmer had a white/dayglo one. Both had JPX's Jon was really chatty actually, top bloke. I remember all this stuff because I was obsessed with the idea of owning one for years after that feature in RCME on a red one.

There was a world record broken with 10 turbines in the air at the same time, incredible sight.
