I can't get the TM1500 to bind... it will go into bind mode, but as soon as I bind the transmitter, the light stops blinking with the other satellites, but never comes back on again. Sats are bound just fine.

Anyone putting this unit into a 35% aerobatic bird? Will be running a jeti system, hoping to hear how to use a remote on off switch.

Team AR was extremely busy this past weekend doing demos and displays for our European friends at Prowing fair in Germany. the locals were very impressed with the Smart Bus and Smooth flite units and their price range, and flight demos of the Smooth Flite were also performed on the spot.

we setup 2 complete jets in 2 hours on Thursday at the fair and went to fly them right after

A few pics attached from the fair.

Brendan and Rick Gell will be attending joe Nall to meet our US buddies and further explain and demonstrate the product line.

See you guys soon!

The TM1000 works great, it is surprising that Spektrum have discontinued it.

The other way to get telemetry is using the SRXL receivers from Spektrum,
These include an 8010T, a 9020T and a 9032T.
These can be used with the ARXL Smoothflite system and you will receive telemetry down to the radio with a single cable.

Hope this helps.

This is such a great system! Easy to install and setup. I'm using the RRS Spektrum Smooth Flight system like what Kris has in the F-22. I installed it into my T-3, bound it assigned my channels, plugged in my servo leads and setup a radio switch for the gyro. The gyro setup wizard is simple to use, ad the weight of your model, flip the assigned gyro switch and it will recognize the channel then setup a couple functions and your done. I just used the factory setting and put it to auto set mode. I made sure all surfaces where setup, dropped my expos to about 5%, tested the gyro correction and movement and took it to the filed.

I did a range test and double checked all my settings. I first took off without the gyro active so i could double check setup and trim the jet out. On the 3rd or fourth pass i flipped on the gyro switch. The T-3 wiggled a little and then locked in. I did some big maneuvers at different speeds and it wiggled a little more. This is due to it setting itself throughout the flight speeds. What other gyro does that?!. Then show time.... Inside/outside loops, vertical figure 8's, knife edge circles and slow rolls.. This is by far one of the best gyros i have flown. The Cortex, Spektrum and i-gyro that I've used in the past do a good job but nothing like this Smooth Flight system. Its absolutely amazing and next level. My T-3 is sooooo solid its crazy!

I've only just touched the surface with the programming. I have not dived into the 15 point servo matching, Telemetry, setting up gyro steering or any other features yet.

I believe this technology from Advanced Radio is the next big thing for our jet community especially with all the big channel and servo demanding jets on the market today.

Thanks again to Rick, Brenden and Pacific RC Jets for manufacturing and distributing such a great quality product...

Happy flying all.....

Just took a look at the manual and confuse don something. For Jeti Ex-Bus there is a statement that on the system specific receiver installation section that states "Jeti EX provides up to 20 channels into SmoothFlite which can be routed to any of the 26 servo output channels"
So for a DS-24, are we limited to 20 channels going into the expander?

I have one setup for jeti question I get a ailerons trim change when I turn my gyro on. That concerns me before I try mine. Have any of you pilots seen this a what did you do. Also when setting up my flaps it kept self reversing on channel 2 when I was set end points. Has anyone experienced this need advice. Call me 773-507-8534

Hi Edgar
When we originally designed the Smart Bus and Smoothflite system we did so with the DX20 in mind.
we can open the SmoothFlite up to 24 channels for the Jeti users and will be doing this in our next major update.
The input channel limit is why we decided to us EX-bus over UDI as UDI only allows for 16 Channels.
When programming the SmoothFlite system for most aircraft you will only need 10-12 channels from your radio as all of the servo grouping is done in the SmoothFlite system.

Cheers
Regards
Brendan

Hi Blinky,

Thank you for the contact, the step you are seeing in the Alierons is the gyro offset compared to the model. it has very zero effect on the model in flight and is quite normal. As you are aware gyros move the surfaces for you in flight to keep you on a continued heading so seeing control surfaces move is an indicator the gyro is working.
With regards to the Flap channel on 2 are you using the servo reverse function on the Smoothflite system, if so ensure you go back a page as this will save the setting then you can continue with the subtrim in the unit.
if you have any more questions, we have a support forum on Facebook or you can contact me via facebook messanger as we monitor this more closely and it can be an easier communication method.

Thanks
regards
Brendan

Do you have to reduce expo with the smooth flight?

you would find the model feels more locked in and a bit slower in rate control with gyro on. at this point you should set the expos and rates to anything you like.

Well, I have posted here a few times and received help for my problems thank you. Now this time I hope it can be resolved also, my setup jeti, r3's, AR smoothflight. Problem, when servo is connected with a powerbox wire extension about 4 feet the servo chatters when control stick move fast. Connected straight to AR it is smooth. Any suggestion I also replaced ext. with new same results.

long extensions with high currents cause voltage drops to the servo.
which voltage are you running and which packs / servos?

Do they happen to be MKS servos? 777A+?

Can you try thicker gauge wiring? it sounds like a voltage drop on the cables.
