Thanks Raffy, I'm learning a lot about how to program the DX18 from some of the KingCat vids on YT, no single vid gives a you all the tips or answers on how to, from this second vid I have learned how to correct that little wiggle of the ailerons that you may see when moving the flap lever ( use the off set )

So far, I have all the control surfaces programmed to their respective travels, I now have to finalize the set up of Crow on the wings then, I got to put it togather, recheck everything, including the CG, after that, it's a trip to the flying field to check the assembly and functionality of the entire model, taxi, engine runs and range checks are to be done at the field, just that will take 1/2 day to complete.

The good thing is that I'm off the entire week, I'll be out for at least 3 days recouping from my event tomorrow morming ( bummer, no Tequila for a few days, crap )

Ok, done for tonight, I did the final touches to the settings on crow, all looks good but, I'm sure there will be something to readjust once the jet is in one piece, it's never that easy, been there done that, I programmed light settings on crow for now then I will increase them as we go.

All done with my procedure and back at home resting, waiting to go in was 4 if not 5 times longer than the procedure itself, so far all looks good and promising, I can see ( yes! I can ) the immediate improvements right away, but won't see100% till a month has passed, no pain, redness or any of the discomforts from the side effects from the procedures,

199.99 mph here I come

Ok, back in bussines, the eye is doing good, vision is excellent, but not 100% yet, the right eye at least

With sirrom's help ( aka Patrick ) I was able to complete the final steps of programming the independent trims on all the control surfaces using a Flight mode mix, I'm still scratching my head as to how F modes works, that's a subject for another build.

I will prepared the KC to take to the field tomorrow to do some checks there, no flying, even if I could, that's an honor for my friend, the owner.

Will report tomorrow night.

I went to the flying field to run the P120, 4 starts and cool downs, all were good, I could see the ECU learning the engine's speed limits, I also tested the smoke pump, but it did not moved ( one more thing to fix )
Another problem I have now is that the receiver is not activating all of the xplus chls as it should or I don't know how to get all of them working correctly, I only need one more chl to work good, all fixable.

Good thing that I got to go back to work tomorrow ( the right eye surgery is all done and vision is still improving) this brake will give time to regroup my thoughts.

The speed controller has arrived and I got me a SD card today also, the temps are coming down a bit around here and it is reasonable to be in the garage, I will be doing some work on the KC tonight.

Well ( scratching my head ) I now need this item on order to be able to download the sofware update from the laptop to the memory card, none of my laptops have a memory card slot.

I was able to export all the model'sprograms to the memory card and also able to download the updates to the laptop but, I now need that card reader.

After getting the SD card reader adapter I was able to complete the task.
If you are able to transfer the radio serial number to the card, do so ( I wasn't, had to enter it manually ) then, register, very easy to do, then, with the new SD card and the SD card reader in hand you are ready to work, also, slide the SD card into the radio and copy the models that you have in there ( very important step ) make sure you save the models into the card, all of them.
1st, register your radio by creating an account.
2nd, download the version update into the SD card ( that's all, no sound updates) just click the down load butttom ( SD card in the adapter, adapter in the USB slot.
next, the update is in the card now, slide the SD card into the radio ( radio is off ) turn radio on, let it do it's thing, use the roler to increase the contrast color so you are able to see the screen, the update should be there, it uploads fast, then up load the models that you had in the radio that are now in the card, once it's done, the models will be back in the radio from the the SD card.

This radio now has a V2.01 software update.

Ops, one more picture for those that understand Spanish jokes.

The two problems I had, have been solved, moving forward ( how much forward can I go, MAN! )

The radio now is updated to the last software version, 2.01 and all the 18 chls are now working as they should be, I selected chl 18 on the radio, chl 20 on the receiver to drive the smoke pump, the smoke pump is working normal now that is has the new speed control, I think it is working better than before because I was able to slow it down on the second half of the slider, this way we can adjust the speed for more smoke if needed once we use the it for the fist time, two things you have to do to the speed control is to select the pins that will allow you to use LIPO batts and to pull the positive lead from the plastic connector tha plugs into the receiver.

I don't have any other thing to fix or adjust at the moment, now I have to put it back togather.

The KC is togather, it only needed a minor adjustment to one of the wing tongs, the CG is right on the spot with the two LIFE batts ( 3K mah ) right after the radio tray and the ECU batt ( 5K mah ) LIPO in the battery box in the nose.

I will be taking it to the flying field to assemble, run and to check it there one last time, after that, I will polish it, touch up a few things and then deliver it to my friend for a maiden flight possible this weekend.

Well, this KCat is in the bag, final install has been done, all is working in there, all the control surfaces have been double checked, CG is right on the spot only using the batts to balance it.

Maiden is set in two weeks or so, a few days after my left eye sergury.

Cross fingers for both, the maiden and my sergury

I will report on both in two weeks.

Later

A cat sleeping on a cat, I was getting flames on the start up sequence, I went into Uacce1r1 and adjusted the drip of the fuel, from 2.5 to 1.75, run it and it needed less fuel because I was getting some flames but not as much as before, I end up dialing the Uacce1r1 down to 1.0 to get a start up sequence without flames, I suspect the Uacce1r1 will end up at 1.25 at the end.

I got the cataract removed from my left eye today, now both are removed, hopefully I will be flying my jets in a week or two.

The KC is done, as far as building and checks, they are all done, I completed the final checks at my flying field this afternoon ( range, taxi, controls, assembly, leaks, retracts, smoke and many other checks, now it will get a complete clean up and wax, then it will be delivered to the owner ( my friend ) by Friday.

Not to brag, but this one will make my 30th+ jet build in 18 years

A big thank you to my 13 years old daughter for her invaluable help to do all this work at the flying field.

Ok, my last post on this thread.

The KingCat flew for the first time today, the maiden flight was done by it's owner, I was there to help him with the triming during the flight, he was shaking, as it should be, a quick TO run fallow with level flight, very little triming, for the first flaps position we added a bit of up elevator and more than that when using crow, the flight modes trims worked like a charm, the amount of crow with the amount of down flaps was just as he likes it, no changes to the flight controls travel, we only swapped the rudder switch to the right and adjusted the steering with it's separated trim for a straight taxi.

The landing was solid, good rotation and no bouncing, taxi back then park.
He got a second flight with smoke.

All in all, Im happy for him, he now has his beloved KingCat back in service
Thank you to those that fallow this thread.

And now, moving on to the next build
