Default Virginia Jets "Jetogether" June 9.10.11

Hello to everyone.

We were hoping to get Virginia Jets back up and running this year..However. as fate would have it, the Hillsville Virginia Twin county Airport will be in the middle of a complete repaving of the ramps and taxiway..
SOOOO
We've put together a weekend at our second flyin spot..the Tazewell Virginia, county airport in Cedar Bluff ,Va. JUNE 9,10,11

Jim French and the guys have always been super nice to us there...An unbelievable view of the Valley below..4300 ft of pavement goodness...
Fly.tazewellcounty.org

No landing fee...jet A on site.. Indoor plumbing..no portojohns.. overnight ..hangar storage has been promised...

Because this is about 1 hr 15 mins on down the road from our regular site...don't really know anything about rentals in area...so I'd come prepared.

This will be a super laid back get together...most likely break out the grill for cookout
..probably a road trip down to a super funky local resturant called "Cuz's" " about 15mins"

I'll do my best to help you get situated. ..there are a couple of local hotels 5 mins from sirport..
Google...Cedar Bluff / Richlands Virginia..

Drop me a note if I can [email protected]

Cross your fingers for 2018..

Just got off phone with them Bill. They are offering special rate. About $20 off per night. VA Jet Meet rate is $104 per night.

Going to try to come either Saturday morning or Friday night. Do you know if the airport is allowing camping in the RV? Hoping to get the new power plant in the F-4 to test there

Larry. . .gonna miss you guys. Great flying site. . .Bill and Dennis are at it again to provide a weekend of fun. . .only advice I can give is "stay outta the woods!" Looks like a 30+ degree slope for recovery of those who have a mishap. . .

Hey Eric. That just makes getting TO the crash site easier. Just walk to the edge of the runway. Lean forward and fall. You'll roll right up to your plane if you avoid hitting a tree. Now,,,,getting BACK to the runway is a different story! LOLOL

Always a great time spent with the VA gang. Laid back and lots of fun. Looking forward to another one.

Bill and Dennis. We had a BLAST!!!! What a beautiful facility, and the hospitality was nothing short of awesome. The Tazewell County airport staff really went out of their way to make the whole event perfect as well. I did take a few moments to snap a few photos, but honestly I was too busy flying or soaking up that great mountain air to be taking many. By far the most relaxing event I have attended. Everything was perfect guys! Quite honestly, all of us are hoping this event stays in Tazewell. Its just a little further north of the Hillsville location, but offered an incredible view. Thanks again guys. As we say down here in NC,,, "Ya Done Good Boys"!!!
