Default Field stand for 50 lb + jet

What is everyone using for a stand at the field for your larger jets. I’m pretty sure my hobby king stand won’t make it. Needs to fold up for transport.

Those stands are good but only for some jets and similar length and no so good for delta jets with flat bottoms and not very stable with field wind , I have one like that in the corner in my garage and not much time in use , damaged two of my jet soft skin and one wing, the horses can be adjusted for long and short jets very stable they folds and they very cheap , sales ACE sales this for around $20 set , usually I have 4 of them inside my van when going flying, grass or concrete they staying stable, 11 years experience with multiple stands and so much money spent before going back to the most proven by construction workers and other hobbies, just my opinion

I like the standard hood stand but I put large pool noodles over the stand for extra padding.

In my area these are the most popular and can hold up to 500lb. They are versatile and adjust for different widths.

I get mine from Harbor Freight and they work great and can hold up to 200 lbs. I have 2 of them and put pool noodles or thicker pipe insulation on them to keep from marring the bottom of my airplanes. Works great on most of my jets and my 33% aerobats.

Yep, absolutely nothin wrong with the body panel/hood stands. I have 3 of them and will likely grab another soon.

Not my idea, I have started using Dewalt Chop Saw stands, they fold up and have a carry handle, carry a ton of weight and very adjustable. I made small boxes with shaped yoga foam blocks ( cheap ones) on the bottom the boxes have inset super magnets with a frame so they can't slide for quick exchange for different jets. The foam blocks hold firm enough that I can have one wing of the Havoc SS and it barely tips. I also used the saw mount for a work table.

Get them on sale for $14 or $15 bucks. I keep one in the shop, one in the garage and one in the van. The horses are OK but the stands can hold two fuselages and just add a board to turn it into a nice workbench while working on a plane. Hard to see this one in the garage covered with HF blankets

Personally i like these, but if you need to get to the bottom, they are a bit low.

What's up with the shipping rates to the US, shipping rates have come down a lot in the past 2 months. Using someone like easyship.com, the cost to ship 30lbs ( as an example) from your zip code to the US is $150USD, your shipping cost is $250+ USD
You can go to someone like The Drewry world container Index ( Spot rate in $ per FEU) FreightWaves Sonar and you can clearly see rates have come down.
Just trying to understand your rates better since your disclaimer on worldwide shipping disruption is incorrect and old news as far as shipping today is concerned.

Thank you very much for your heads upon shipping and Easyship...our package is 44 lbs for a Field Stand and next order to the USA we will be giving them a try...when we started shipping years ago the first quote from Fedex was $1100 aud ..then we started using Auspost which was around the $250 aud mark...delivery by AIR...sent one to Malta by SHIP once and it disappeared for 4 mts ...much cheaper but to much heart attack material ...once again thanks ...teddy

I wish I could find who has the moulds for the Byron stand, I have 3-4 Byron stands (depends who has ‘borrowed’ one) and I would have more. Built more models on those than a bench!
We priced up having a mould made and it’s uneconomical….

I’m still contacting people I sold them to 😁 there are over 100 in Europe that I sold at the old JetPower fair.

Happy New Year when it gets to your time zone!

someone with some 3d drawing and 3d printing skill should be able to make something similar, having an original to go by.

Looked at that. Machines to print something that big are expensive. Plus the Nylon Byron use is strong as heck. I regularly have my 70+lb SM A-10 on it and it copes easily.
One day the technology will allow it at a reasonable cost…but I might be too old.
