OK, Rolls Royce, GE , P+W and CFM, JetCat, AMT, TJT, RAM, Wren et al. got it all wrong, their engines have ECUs (and AFRCUS and BFCUs on big engines before electronics came along !)
I havent seen the drawings but I have seen the engine.
I rest my case,

You case hasnt been made, any more than Aristole's case for physics. People have seen them run. Maybe the missing word you seek is work 'well'. Certainly they did not work well, but were a stepping stone all the others you names used. What doesnt work is a major part of any R&D. Your entire case crashes with one observed 'run'. Evidence for that has been offered. All your evidence cements a case for it being poor design and probably not lasting long, nor producing much thrust.
But to conclude it was a fake isnt logically sound by presenting that it isnt made with today's known technologies. Todays technology came by learning from the mistakes of the past, it wasn't discovered intact.

Who cares if the U-22 runs or not? Why would anyone want to waste their time and money getting it to run now? If it runs will it be better than a Wren 44? No! It has been overtaken by progress. The guy who paid $1600 for one obviously had more money than sense!

Either you "get" the U-22 or not...to me, it's incredibly fascinating, I would LOVE to see one run...if it WILL run!

You were getting grease under your nails because you weren't wearing rubber gloves. Next time you see your proctologist ask him for some
'62 Morgans are classic cars which look wonderfull, they worked just fine in their day. The U-22 neither worked (i.e flew a model) nor looked anything other than some Co2 cans glued together with an intake, some glow plugs and a needle valve, if you put your mind to it I am sure you could come up with something that at least looks interesting although it still wouldn't work!

I don't like the way rubber gloves feel, you know, you kind of lose the sensitivity...
Dunno if the U22 runs or not, but to me, it's just an incredibly fascinating piece of machinery, someone put a lot of thought into it, someone a little ahead of their time...maybe a little TOO far ahead of their time...
Like I said, I saw one once, the guy said it DID run, and it had combustion stains on the tailpipe...but that's not the same as seeing it run myself!
Anybody ever seen a MEW 607 Mewjet?

I am thinking of making one ( at least an attempt ) I was thinking of using a garrett t3 compressor ( roughly the same dimensions as the one in the plan ) redesigning the diffuser, and putting a conventional injector ring in it. What do you guys think?

John,
"School project" for engineering technology. What do you think about the mods though/ do you think it could work?

If there was a race for duds this thing would be a lap in front. Would make a good paperweight or can it be converted to a cigarette lighter? - John.

John,
Since you hate the design i'll refrase the question " Do you think the mods will make it a better paperweight or give a higher chance of the thing actually turning over

RE: U-22 Turbo-Jet engine?
The u-22 Turbo Jet was great little shelf model they were sold out of the back of such mags as popular mechanics or mechanics illistrated and went for a wopping 189.95.Now days they can bring up 1k new in the box although some guys with more money than sense have payed way to much .There has never been a documented point or referance that one ever ran .Not saying it wouldn't run but nobody has ever seen one run for that matter.By the way I am looking for one if anyone has one for sale please let me know.

RE: U-22 Turbo-Jet engine?
if you replace the original u-22 turbine with a turbo turbine there should be a lot more compression as the original only uses cintrifical airflow it will work but somethings need to be changed and added like guide vanes etc
