Looks like the response will exceed the "5" threshold

In addition to turbine stuff I'm still flying an OS91 d/f Enforcer just to pull folks' chains and plan to build another. The ByroBlaster stuff just works better at our rarified altitude.

Then there's electric ... oh, shoot, I don't have any (yet).

Nah, d/f isn't dead and there's obviously a lot of grass roots "support" for it. I think most guys continue to enjoy d/f stuff at their local fields.

The thing is, if we ( you and me ) were half a guy, we ( you and me ) would be a normal size guy.

I really hate to admit this, but I still own a D/F Regal Eagle with an OS.91 and Dynamax (pic of it in my gallery). Now Patf will know that he is not the only one making that terrible noise in Texas. I also have a NIB - OS.91VRDF / NIP - JMP system II pipe / NIB - JMP Starfire IIb kit / several Dynamax fans and a Byron F-16 kit. But the Facet kit is next on the table!

I'm flying a Byron f-16 with a Byro Jet and a k&B 100
and a scratch built model that the guys called Panther with a Dynamax and a K&B 82
I don't expect to switch to turbines unless I win the loterie and I don't buy tickets.
But I like very much to see them flying in a scale model.

The panther is in the photo near me at the begining of this message.

Thank you everybody, let's keep those lines ringing (starting to feel like the Jerry Lewis Telethon).

We are still alive and loud.

Food fot thought: When you go to the airport and watch planes take off, whcih is more interesting and fun to watch, a B 757 with those really quiet RR-250's, or a loud-will get sued-noise pollutant B 727, with those remarkable (but loud) JT8D's.

And yes, electric fans count as DF's.

Keep posting, c'mmon.

Airworthy:

JHH F-4 (Dynamx + OS 91)
JHH F-86 (Turbax I + OS 46 VXDF)

Retired:

Philip Noel Mirage 2000C (Turbax I + OS 46 VXDF)

On the work bench:

Own design Mirage F1 (RK720 rotor + OS 25 VFDF)
DL MB 339 (Ramtec/91 first, then MW54)
JHH Mirage 5F (Turbax I + VX)....will end up with a MW54, though.

In the box:

JHH F86 (will get a Viojet + 77)
JHH A-7 (MW54)
JHH Mirage/Kfir (MW54)
Jim Fox Viggen (either Ramtec/91 or MW54)
Marcel Lahaie Mirage 4000 (either twin .46 DF or MW54)
Marcel Lahiae mini Mirage 2000 (RK720 rotor + OS 25)
Henk Oosthuizen 1:7.5 Mirage F1 (MW54 Super)
Henk Oosthuizen F-86 (MW 54)
Midwest Jetster (RK20 + OS 25)...for my son(s)

As you can see....I have a lot of building to do:-)
I still enjoy DF, particularly the simplicity and reliability of the .46 DF. But eventually, most of my jets will be turbine powered.

Yellow F-16a Dynamax/OS 91
Yellow F-16c Ramtec/OS91

Yellow F18 Dynamax/OS 91 (just sold)

Hotbodies A-7 (owned 3/all sold)

Top gun F-15 byron fan/OS91 (sold)

Sorry just bought a Ram500x to put in the F16c this summer. But will always own a D/F!!!!

Ducted fans should never be allowed to die, because todays ducted fan pilots is tomorrow turbine pilot- That's why we should all support people who fly D/F

We got a short break on the weather for a couple of weeks, so I got a couple of flights on the f-16C-PRETTY SWEET....but I'm done flying until April or May. It's was -5 outside yesterday.
My plans are to get maybe another 30-40 flights on the F-16c sometime early in the spring then convert it over to turbine, and get my waiver over the summer. If I can work around my wedding in July. (I get engaged on New Years eve, and she books the wedding a week later- Whats up with that? I thought I would at least get a year!!!)[]

Hallo Falconman;
Thanks for offering this forum from the hot air crowd. The jp4 crowd seems to be elitish and slams us DF'ers as they want to shut the back door on how they got to the pinnacle of the model avaiation pyramid.
Meanwhile I still enjoy my air force of :
RCM NA F-100F, BVM w/KBV.82,
RCM McD F4S, Dynamax w/K.B82,
FM LTV F-8E, Dynamax w/KB.82,
FM He-162b, Turbax w/KB 7.5 RIRE,
Traplet MiG-15bis, Turbax w/KB 7.5 RIRE,
Kress F-4G, RK-20B w/KB 3.5 RIRE.
All the above are iso-mounted, pipe pressured, and built with balsa & plywood and Fibreglassed covered.
May the force be with you and your wallet hidden.
