Default Dallas Jet Rally July 13th & 14th

The DFW Jet Rodeo is finally making a comeback after a 2 year hiatus.

We finally have a jet friendly field in the Dallas area and it has been decided to fill in the summer jet rally "gap" in district 8 with a informal jet-together at our new field.

The runway is 620'x40' smooth asphalt, there is a covered pit area, a central taxiway, and heavily defended pilot stations. There is power at the field, and there are 4 RV hookups at this time (two more will be added before the event). The charge for RV hookup is $10.00 per day.

As I said before, THIS IS A VERY INFORMAL EVENT !!! There will be no awards, giveaway items, raffles, or drawings. Because of the late planning we will not even be soliciting for spectators. This is a pilots event, just a couple of days of all the jet flying you can stand at a great flying field.

The registration fee will only be $15.00 (I would make it less if I could). I will be mailing flyers within the next week. In the meantime you can find maps and pictures for the new NDRCC field at: http://www.ndrcc.com .

If you have any questions I can be reached at: [email protected] .

Kevin,

I talked to Dennis breifly this morning and the Mississippi Gang will likely be there. Has anyone flown a heavy like a Phantom out there yet? Are there bleachers there?? (I hope not!)

David,

Jensen has flown his Phantom there a few times, and we are waiting to install the F-4 straining bleachers until after you fly your's.

Kevin,

I'll be there too.

I'll talk to a couple guys in Lubbock (Mike, Eldon, John, maybe even James from Tatum) to see if they can come up. I know James has had some great success with his new Dragon kit....

It's only a 5 hour drive from Lubbock...

Dave,

If I can hit that thing (the runway, that is) I am sure you can do it. There is also a parallel grass runway adjacent to the asphalt, although it has probably not grown well enough to land on w/o bending gear.

There are plans for power for RV's in the future, but the plugs are not installed yet. I believe there is one plug...for me. The rest of you will have to generate. Maybe we should look into renting large generator for all to use?

See you then

Default Power at the field

Dan,

Mike and I are going flying in the morning and I will take a look and see what exactly is available out there. If the is enough service available but only one plug it might be possible to make a splitter or something.
I'll let you know what we find.

Dan,

No longer will I use your satelite hookup!!! For some reason, I used to get the "good" channels when hooked to your dish. They don't work any more!

Just try the generator thing...mine is louder than your's

See ya soon,

Mike

I'll take the muffler off of mine!!!! It will sound like a thrashing machine in heat!!!! That reminds me of a old joke... There are 2 things you never loan out .. Your wife or you lawnmower.. It's too easy to throw a rod in either one of them!!!

See ya'll there!!

Default Dallas

Hey guys/gals, good news on the power issue at the Dallas show next month.

Was out at our new field today. We now have 4-30amp RV plugs...might add 2 more in a few weeks. Plan on needing extension chords as we may have to park a couple RVs away from the plugs. So, Dan, guess we won't have a generator war after all.

Dave, put another flight on the F-4 at the new field tooday. Bring your's with you. No problem hitting the runnway...in fact I hit it pretty hard today! No damage to the Phantom. See you soon.

Edit,
File is too big to attach here, I will upload it later today and post a URL for it.

Edit #102,

Can't link to that site from here
I'll find another way later.

OK, regarding power at our new field for the July event...

We will have 6 RV hookups. Club is charging $10 per night per RV to use the power. Bring extension chords.

See ya there.
