New Boomerang ready to go
Hi Guys,
Well, after an unexpected break from my jet models I'm itching to get back in the air with my newly completed Boomerang. How many others out there are flying Boomerangs now, either big or small? I'd love to see any photos and flight reports people have.
Regards,
Garrett

At last Garrett, it's completed!!!
Congratulations. You will REALLY enjoy relaxed jet flying. So easy to fly, you won't believe it. I have been flying mine for over a year now, with zero problems. If your engine flames out, just bring her round and land as you would normally land your dead-stick trainer. With flaps at 90 and throttle at 1/4 you will land, nose high at a walking speed, literally, not theoritically. You will be able to perform F3A aerobatics with ease. mine tipped the scales at 23 Lbs and I have flown her with a Jetcat P120, a Simjet 2300 and a TJT3000, same performance on all three engines.
BRG,
Chris

Nice work Garrett,
Now you just had to go and get a Volvo wagon like me. Hope you got the T5. Managed to get my 850R to outrun a M3 the other day, the guy could not believe a station wagon passing him at 240K..
Cheers
Andre

RE: New Boomerang ready to go
Hi Chris,
Yep, I'm afraid I took my time. One of those cases of hitting the 95% complete mark in 4 weeks and then taking 12 months to get back to it for a whole bunch of reasons. It was a great kit to build. The blue and yellow are done in pearl finish profilm and the trim is profilm red chrome. It really lights up in the sun. I think it should be easy enough to see in the air :-) I haven't tossed it on the scales yet, but it sits on the nose-wheel without any lead in the nose. I'll toss it on the scales in the next couple of days.
Andre, looks like we both have good taste. I love the V70, nice car to drive and heaps of room for big models. Unfortunately, I just couldn't bring myself to part with the extra $$$ for the T5, as much as I wanted to. Thought about going for a V40T4 but it would have been too small. Also looked at an S60 but there was no way I could have got the models into it.
Regards,
Garrett

Nice one Garrett.
I've just retro fitted retracts to my Boomer, and a 3 Litre bottle tank. Gives 10 minutes. Can't wait to hear what you think of the flight characteristics. I think you'll love it!

Hi the pound to usd is about 1.7 so 495 sterling is about 840 usd
Not cheap but you get the wheels and everything you need. The tank is a 2 liter Coke bottle.
I think the shipping might be high as the box is quite big.
I paid about 350 us to Israel for shipping.
Also the wings on mine is sheeted with veneer not balsa and I tried to keep it light so only ultarcote and after a few months the veneer started cracking. It does not affect the strenghth or flying but looks a bit funny from close.

So these Boomerangs. How much runway do you need to rotate? Can it be a grass runway? Does anyone in the midwest have on these?
