Anyone know why the photo shows two of the FADEC Hand Data Terminals? He does not have a TWIN TURBINE CHOO CHOO, does he?

Pretty cool, I dident think that steam style locomotives had turbines.

I would have done the old turbine TGV

FWTW
Union Pacific railroad used a turbine fleet of 55 locomatives during the 1950's & early 60's. had to be used in the "desert" as the exhaust noise was deafing, and played hell with overpasses

According to http://www.hmilburn.easynet.co.uk/en.../locos/gt3.htm it looks like a steam loco because it was basically built on a standard steam loco chassis.

Pretty neat.

Woketman,

Wren provide a special FADEC ECU for the turboprop type engine. This is basically and additional ecu which monitors the power turbine statges and prevents overspeeding of the gearboxes etc. Unfortunately, I can't tell you more than that, maybe Gaspar's seen the thread and could give some more details.
