CLUB CLUB CLUB !!! if you are pushing for member**** to a club, to determine my behavior accoring to th club's and AMA rules everywhere i go, then you are in efect advocating dictorial communism in its pures theory and form !! Wojtec....get a waiver.....
Tom
I hope the TCD's and CD's in this persons area are watching this thread. More so, I hope the CD's are responsible enough to see what this person is and will not signoff on the waiver. I wouldn't want my name on his waiver application.

If i were a CD who saw me fly sufficiently well for a signoff, and does not sign me off based on the crap you people pull in this thread, i guarantee you they would not be a CD for much longer and the AMA sure would have some problems also .... Again and Again i keep telling you people, I DO NOT VIOLATE RULES AT AMA SANCTIONED (clubs, fields... whatever makes you happy calling them) OR EVENTS !! when im on PRIVATE PROPERTY the AMA can go shove it ...

This thread has wandered from the original topic and has resorted to name calling and actions not in accordance with the rules of RCU. It is being locked down at this point in time. Thanks Dave, forum moderator.

Has anyone put a King Tech 210 on a King Cat ? Not saying I'm going to do it. Would not want to get people all bent out of shape. Just a theoretical technical question.

I had a p200 on a kingcat. Was no big deal. A k210 would not be either. I have several k210 in planes that can go really fast. I just don't fly over 200. Speed is not my thing anymore.

Wow what a thread

1st I think AMA should increase the speed to 250 vs 200

2nd. I'm almost done with my Velox XL with an AMT 450 air start

Why? Honestly it was why not. I got the Velox for free from a really nice fly buddy because he feels like it's to much for him.

I have a JetCat P120 I was going to put in it but I got this 45 pound motor for little less than 1k so I see t his as a low buck fun build. Yes I have other jets

I was told the Velox and King at both are very slick frames and with such big wings the added weight means nothing

I do plan on taping my leading edges, just incase become my Carf Rookie and Eurosport got the same treatment

I also got a carbon fiber wing tube to replace the stock aluminum tube for more strength

I'm CG this beast now and Im surprised how little led was needed

Let US Know How It going

What about residual thrust? Hows a 200-class vs. 120-160 - is it a big difference?

I wish the turbine manufacturers would list residual thrust for all their products.

really ? because the only time i ever went to fly at FJ was with a P-120 powered bobcat with speed limiter, ... actually got the sport plane award ... memory must not be serving you right lol

as for the KingCat, mine did very well with an at400 which was a 42lbs thrust engine ( Jet Cat p200s running at 45lbs at the time were not running well at all in those days and I was not able to get one , and P160s were even worse blowing up) The engine did very well on the plane ( until the engine seized up :\ lol )

I did another BobCat with a JC Rhino on it, and it was just awesome.

With a speed limiter to keep things under 200, a high power to weight ratio can be super fun. CARFs UltraFlash is my go to plane these days, and the current one has a Cheetah .. The one thing I would recommend to anyone heavily powering any aircraft would be to remember that higher thrust engines also keep a higher residual thrust on the idle end as well . My last UF with a Rhino was a little bit of a pain to slow down because of this.

all best,

Voy

The 200 will work fine. I have seen them fly with a 160 to180. You just need to be respectful of the air frame and watch the speed in high G maneuvers . The speed limiter will take care of none G flite. The wings are not a total composite. I have a 180 on my bandit. I have a dual rate switch that gives me full power . My normal mode is 140N I only do it going vertical.
Because of the residual thrust make sure you have at least 3/4 crow and full flaps. The mounting of the engine will not take any more improvements . Have fun be safe Dan

I know his old, but my buddy had a P-200 on a KingCat when 200's first came out against the advice of some; and that was a very early KC, no problems to report, even flown slightly aggressively, but not as aggressive as Voy!

I think I remember something about him "bending" the win tube on a Bobcat at Fentress, but I wasn't there that year so I can't confirm.

George, I can confirm that with my own eyes. Never seen a Bobcat wing tube do that, not even in a crash! Back in those days Voy had a special part number and use to get the BobCats delivered in a three pack Its funny how things have come full circle, back in the day Voy and I would go back and forth in heated conversations about being safe and using good judgment. Now he is the poster child for safe model flying and he traded in his audi for a prius, go figure
