Default Anyone ever tried to clean PPG 2021 overspray off your glasses?

I clearcoated a project today and just noticed that I have PPG 2021 overspray all over my new trifocals (plastic lenses). I know... I should have been wearing goggles but I always have a problem with them fogging up. At least I was wearing a respirator. Anyone else ever had this problem.

Thanks

Gary,

I have had the same problem but with a different clearcoat. I tried all kinds of lens cleaner but nothing worked. I discovered by accident that baby oil would remove the overspray on my glasses.

Believe it or not, good ol' Laquer thinner will do the job and will not harm the plastic lenses. [8D] Been doin' that for years. I admit I was kinda apprensive about it the first time I tried it, tho. LOL

I second the lacquer thinner idea. I don't wear a hood type mask and have had overspray on my glasses several times (makes me think about what is going into my eyes!). Lacquer thinner always takes it off without harming the lenses or their protective coatings. I also wear an older pair of glasses to paint.

Been wearing glasses since I was 5. I have seen lots of stuff on my glasses that I was glad didn't get in my eyes. CA, paint etc... We have built in eye protection the way EYE see it! (pun intended)
I have tried just about everything and will say that lots of stuff works if you get it early. Wait 3 months and it gets real tuff. I will also say that I have never seen anything that will melt or ruin the plastic used in glasses either. Try the thinner, I have also used K&B thinner to great effect.
Tim.

I crossed my fingers and used the PPG reducer for the 2021 clear. The lenses look like brand new.[sm=cool.gif] But next time, I think I'll take my glasses off my face before I clean them[sm=biggrin.gif]
I'm really happy to find out that I'm not the only one that does stuff like this.

Thanks guys
