A380 MSN 001 has been released for flight testing.
We just got word from Airbus today.
Hello Folks,
Here is a photo of MSN 001 when it was delivered /released to Airbus Flight Test department. This means that manufacturing finished with their functional testing and MSN 001 is ready for Flight Test. One step closer!

I read that Airbus wants to build a plant in Seattle , if they get the USAF refueling tanker contract . The plant would be in Boeing's backyard .

Not at all, if they do it willl be in Wichita, where they are currently located.

Some authorities (like the Associated Press) insist on “farther” to refer to physical distance and on “further” to refer to an extent of time or degree, but others treat the two words as interchangeable except for insisting on “further” for “in addition,” and “moreover.” You’ll always be safe in making the distinction; some people get really testy about this.

My company got rid of our 747-400's in the fall so I think not ! When is the test flight ?

Do wish Airbus much success with the project. Hopefully their hedged bets will work out.
Boeing did a pretty deep analysis of going big and surmised that they would never break even with the cost.

There is no way in hell that a USAF (or USN if they would ever get something that big) tanker contract would ever, in a bajillion years, go to airbus. If you think that it's possible....you don't understand American politics.
