Default "Jets Over the Swamp"

Just a reminder, the 8th annual "Jets Over the Swamp" will take place on May 14th and 15th. The city of Waycross GA. gives the jet modeler's unrestricted use of it's main runway. The NEWLY paved runway is 6000' X 150' with no tree line and a wide open field directly across from the runway. The local club is very excited about this annual jet only event. For more information a flyer can be printed from www.bvmjets.com

Picture's from last year's event shows off the huge runway and wide open spaces.
The F-104 was scratch built by Jerry Keller, it's 113" long and is an excellent flyer!!

This is a great event...big enough to have a variety pilots and airplanes but small enough that there are usually only one or two planes in the air at a time. Fantastic flying site and great support from the organizers! Georgia Jets will be attending again this year.

There are at least two of us coming from Lakeland. Where are you'all staying.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn last year.

The Holiday Inn and Hampton Inn are right next door to each other and are comparable in price and quality. We'll be staying in one or the other.

For what it is worth; Walley Sundey had his motorhome there either last year or the year before.
He can tell you what you needto know. Contact me at 863 712 6630 and I will tell you how to find Walley.

Johnny, I sent the information to your e-mail. If your going to pick up were you left at Florida Jets, you may want to bring your own tanker for back up.

Here is a Mapquest link to a map you can use to find your way. It's really pretty simple. Go noth on 95 to Jax and then take US 1 to Wacross.

This is one of the best events to go to if you like to fly I put in over 20 flights at last years event and there were never more then two other planes in the air at a time. I can't wait to go up again.

Two from Tampa going

Last year I went to this Jet Rally and had a great time. There is parking for your motor home right near the Flight Line if it's like last year.

I am suppose to Fly to Amsterdam that weekend I am trying to get ot off so I can attend.

I'll give you a buzz if I'm going so we can hook up.

Ian
