Double check that there's no crap in the filter and back-flush it. There is no guarantee that the pump is OK just cause it's new. I had a brand new pump that could not pump enough to get an old RAM 1000 to max thrust. It happens. Not saying that is it, but it could be. I believe some of the FADEC gurus can tell that by looking at the FADEC while running. It display percent of possible voltage to the pump or something like that, right? So if it says its giving 100% of the available voltage to the pump and you still are not getting max RPM, then that sounds like the pump is bad.

And Todd is right, down load that data. Not sure if the power to the pump is data that is recorded. But if you are on a test stand, not flying, just download it straight to a computer.

Are you certain there are NO bubbles in the fuel line? How about taking the engine's cap off and running to be certain that no air leak is allowing a very fine stream of bubbles into the fuel line underneath the front cover.

In that case thats probably not it, did you verify the ECU is programmed to 115K RPM ?

Also, can you try a different battery just in case ?

Hello Snir,

I noticed that you took the turbine apart. Unless you put the turbine, compressor and shaft at the same orientation you might have hurt the balance. I'm not familiar with the JJ but I know the source quite well . You need to be careful while reinstalling the parts making sure everything is lined up and the spaces are equal.

Both unbalance and incorrect installations may load the turbine to the point where it won't reach full RPM.

What is the pump power reading? EGT? Voltage of the battery while running?

Measure these and post them. These will give us an idea of what's wrong.

PS. you could test the pump by borrowing a friends (does not have to be the very same Flightworks pump, a Hausl will work fine. May have to make an adapter cable to get the correct connections) that is known to run a similar sized turbine (or larger) adequately. If his works, then it is the pump.

Ask Gaspar what the max voltage is that the ECU can handle. If it can handle a few volts more, try adding a cell or two to the battery and see if that gets you there.

If Erazz is correct then you should have some bearing squeal and some bad vibrations leading up to your max RPM. Does it seem VERY smooth at all RPMs???

The tubine running smooth all the way up, no vibrations at all.
I will open the front case to be sure there's no air in the fuel line and check the filter.
Anyway, I'll record some data tomorrow and post it here.
Thank's

Another simple thing to check is make sure ECU is set to trans correctly. Look and make sure it says 100% at wide open throttle.

Hi guy's

I did another two runs today and find out yesterday problem.
Here is some data from today.

Idel RPM: 30000 stable.
Max RPM: 114800 ~ 115000
Max temp: 680c
Battery: 7.3v ~ 7.1 (need charge)

Well, the problem was (I'm embarrassed to say...) the fuel line festo tap was'nt open all the way, only half...

Now the JJ1800 run great, spool up time is good and balace is superb.
I will post info after test flight. (Jetlegend T-45).

Thank's for you fast responds.
Snir

Now that the problem is resolved, I'll ask again:

Hi JetJoe Owners!

Is the current line of Jet Joe turbines as reliable as the mainstream turbines (Artes, Jet Cat, AMT, RAM, etc.)?

Do any of you guys have a few dozen hours of trouble free or near-trouble free run time on them?

My 1200 runs perfectly with about 4 hours on it now it is one of the older ones. The latest versions are even better. So I would say yes.

Hi cobratraxxas69

As you can see, I'm not an expert with jet engine, but I got my turbine after long time checking everything just to be sure I'm buying the right thing.

I could buy a JetCat (Actualy I did order one, but the shop could'nt supply it on time during my stay in spain) but with the costs of a Jetcat, I got
the JJ1800 + T-45 Goshawk + gear...

Yet, it's not a JetCat, Artes etc... and you CAN see the quality differences when holding them side by side.

But I'm sure the JJ will work fine, I'm happy already

Can the Skymaster F-18E be flown with two jj1400 - do you think it is enough power?

what is the proper "setup" for twin turbines, i.e., the ECU, batt's, etc...Can someone provide a schematic starting from the Rx to the turbine for the install?

I hope the rumour isn't true? Anyone contact Gabe about it?

After it was sort out, my JJ1400 works fine. Starts everytime and runs nicely. I have a few hours on it. When flying season returns, I hope to really wring it out.
