Yeah, I saw this one fly last weekend. Flamed out a couple of times but flew this Kangaroo well. It sounded different to the other turbines that were there in that it "howled" more.. but it worked!

Scott

I don't now if the joejet is a nice running turbine.
But F-1 Jockey said that the turbine on that kangaroo had a couple of flame outs. But it is possible that this problem is not comming from the turbine, but from the fuel tanks, or pump, or ECU.
So it could be that it is a fine turbine (the new joejet), but that the other hardware, not 100% OK is.

greetings Paul

Very true Paul... I'm just saying what I saw. I think I saw it fly 3 times at the meeting and it performed well in the 'Roo. It does sound strange though!

Scott

ps... here 's another couple of pictures from the Longhorsley giant scale event.. the Hunter's 1/3rd scale by the way!!

Dave,

Its called a Tsunami. DB was a great pains to stress it was named that before the tragedy in Asia.

It's an own design by someone called Dave Shawbrick ( I think). Turbine was also a homebuild..... went like the bloody clappers!

Cheers
Scott

The Tsunami was designed by Howard Dowbekin who also designs and builds his own engines. Both Harold & Dave Swarbrick fly at the Blackpool Club in Lancashire (www.blackpoolmodelflyers.org.uk).

HI, the only jet that crashed at Bellville was powered by a Jetjoe, it quite and was forced to land damaging the nose.

HI all, I must admit this turbine looks pritty good, I suppose it still has some teething bugs.
I was told by the rep that this turbine is all stainless and at $600, turbine only, it might make a good 25 hour swap.

Hello Michael,

Why don't you give me a call or drive through and i will show you how it flies and sound. The Gaspar electronics is a perfect match. Same used by Wren and Simjet.
