How many Lightnings are flying in the World
Dear All
As a matter of interest, I wondered how many Lightnings are flying (models that is) in the world.
We have one, I know of three possibly four under construction, three of them are close to being flown.
Regards Phil G.

Excellent feature on the Lightning in this month's "Aeroplane" including George Black's F1a (XM184) in 111 Sqn colours as modelled by Colin Straus. What a wonderful, and colourful, change from the usual crop of American fighters !! RAF fighters of the '60s and '70s , magnificent !!
Mick Reeves kits are fantastic value and very accurate, so unfairly underrated, my next project after the Mig 29 is flying.
Regards,
David Gladwin

The lightning is just sooo ugly
But at the same time, its is so special, and something cool about it, that maybe I have to own one

Dear Dave and SJN
If you both build one that could put the population up to about six.
The idea is to get them all down to RAF Coltishall (which was the OCU for Lightnings)
before the RAF pulls out in April 2006. The base finally closes December 2006.
