RE: DJ3 steerable nose wheel, how to do it?
I had done a thread with photos on this very thing a few years back, I did a quick search, but could not find it.
Basically, you want to file a groove around the noseleg near the top, use the setscrew screwed partially into that groove to keep the leg from falling out, and then add a yoke for steering cables to the leg. Cables go to the rudder servo.
I have one of these assemblies done up, you can have it if you want.
If you have not bought the pilot mechanical gear yet, think seriously about getting mini spring airs instead, the price is not that much more, and it's MUCH less hassle. The two retract servos driving mechanical retracts deal is not very reliable, and not that safe, as a stalled servo could cost you the plane.
I have done three of these planes, and I would not do another with their mechnical system.
