Jets Over The Heartland Pictures
Well after a 20 hour drive from Austin, (picked up Joey Tamez in Ft. Worth on the way), we made it to Winamac at three AM, dropped the trailer at the flying site and made it to the hotel by 4:30 am for a well deserved shower and try to get a couple of hours before heading back out to the field at 8 am. Got the shower but too wound up to get the sleep I needed.
The facility here is a great place to fly jets, no obsructions. Thanks to Tim Redelman and the local club for hosting this event.
I'm going to post a few pictures and if anyone has any to add, please do so.
I wish I could tell the story like Bryce could so I'm not even going to try.
David Reid and Vernon Montgomery fixed breadfast at the field. After a couple of practice pancakes, David broke the code on fixin pancakes.
Justin Sands and Francis enjoying a bite of breakfast.

The Mississippi and the Texas gang joined forces and rented a tent together.
Also covered parking is on a first come first serve basis.
A young boy, don't remember his name ran in a bunch of Cheetos that were being shot out of a potato gun and little Joey didn't know what "hog tied" was but soon found out.

Hi Justin,
The Hun looks as good as ever! Why dont you bring it home this time so we can get some flying in at Whidbey-if you have to leave the airplane at least bring your 10x and support equipment and we can fly the Bandit.
Enjoy yourself at the meet !

RE: Jets Over The Heartland Pictures
I am really excited about attending the show tomorrow (Saturday). I have been involved in RC for quite some time now, and I never knew that there was a show like this nearby where I live. Ironically I had to attend the Florida Jets 2005 show to find out that there is a similar gathering in Winamac about 45 minutes from where I live! HOW COOL IS THAT!?!
Anyway what time in the morning do flyers usually begin? With the heat/humidity Indiana is experiencing right now I had the thought that the show might take a break during the heat of the day.
Can anyone give me pointers as to when it would be a good time to show up at the field?
Thanks!

Joe, I don't think I will be at Liberty Bell this year. About the blast shields, I was wondering that myself. I think tomorrow I will take a picture of one and post it here. They are quite effective.
Monitor, not a whole lotta flying before 10 or so. The sun plays havic with you early in the morning. Also tomorrow evening there will be a fireworks display. Thanks to Ralph Braun for that. Tomorrow the temp is going to be 86 and the wind right down the runway.
John C. That is not Vernon original F4. The original has been laid to rest in Vernon's attic in need of some repair. Wish I had a good camera and be able to take in flight shots so this will have to do.

Well I said today was going to be a little cooler. Boy was I ever wrong. Hotter than hell and not much breeze.
A few pictures of the fireworks display that was put on this evening. It was one the best I have seen in a long time. The fireworks were done by a professional company and after they were done, it was time for the "redneck" fireworks on the runway. No pictures of that. If everyone that was shooting them still have all their fingers, I'd be surprised.

Some pictures I took on Saturday.
I have a movie compilation too, but it seems my connection is not stable enough to load the whole thing. I'll keep trying until I can post it somewhere.

I just got back from Winamac. What a great event! There were alot of very impressive scale stuff that was flown just as much as the sport models. The 4 F-100's were flown constantly throughout the weekend. Dustin did the maiden flight on his WM F-86.
Flew great! Jorge Escolona flew his big F-18 in tiger color 3-4 flights. Thanks to Tim and the entire Winamac group for putting on such a great event. See you next year!
