RE: show and share you model
Now on the second set of main tires on my BVM BobCat XL, first flight in 2003 with now well over 120 flights. At least 3 times that in landings as the BobCat loves touch-&-goes. My BobCat is at home at high density altitude airfields my home field averages 6,500 feet MSL. Note the Crow-in of the rudders over 1 inch deflection.. they really do increase the drag on final.. Elevator trim needs to be increased a +25 when Crow is activated.
Original set of tires still on the MIG averaging only about 10 flights a year, maiden flight was in 2000. This aircraft is best suited for runways at 3000 feet MSL or lower... or runways of 800 feet or more in length above 3000 feet MSL. My home field is 5,460 above sea level and is only 600 feet in length this accounts for the small number of flights on my MIG. Much more risky at high density altitudes.
My two turbine engines are by far the most reliable engines I've ever had the fortune to use during my 40 years flying R/C aircraft.

Well, here it is a quite simple project.. a f-86 fuselage of unknow origin (i presume it is a
byron ripoff) was offered by a local and we installed on it a ram 500. Custom wings, semi scale markings and spring air retracts and wire legs to keep things light, also cheap futaba 3050 servos on every surface made this a very cheap budget airplane.

I'm a hard - way Harry so I designed & built my first jet from scratch. Worth all the blood sweat & tears when it finally flys! - John.

Hello,
actually I'm flying the SM Goshawk, and I like it very much. My Harpoon ist fitted with Canards and two axis thrust vector. The Dassault MD 450 is my next winter project. And last, but not least an F9F with a wingspan of 2,15m made by Schmalenbach, which will be finished next year (hopefully).

It is the XXl also known as the SPORT SU-35. The kangaroo looks much better than this one. The XXL is much bigger and heavier with working canards and forward speed brakes. Now retired[&o]

Hi Terry,
so where should I start? The kit consists of a fibre glass made fuselage and tip tanks, balsa coated styro wings and stab and some plastic parts and wooden formers. You can order it in several stages of pre fabricated, which is to be discussed with Peter Schmalenbach. I bought the bird nearly ARF from a guy, who sorted out his hangar. So I was lucky and a lot of work was already done. The gear is made by WABO and seems to be very solid. It will be powered by a Turbine with a thrust of 14kg (somewhat 30ibs), and should wheigt less than 16kg. The design will be "The blue tail fly", which was presented by Sun Kim on the JWM 2006. If you need any more infos, you can also PM me.
