Curtis, you know I have to agree with you about Vioburgers . We caught someone trying to pass of immitation vioburgers at FBF, we sent the sky police after him and they chased him down and kicked the mustard out of him.

ORIGINAL: EASYTIGER

Look...go down to the field on any given Sunday...
You will see the VioBurger guys putting in bite after bite with no problems.
Then you will see these OTHER guys sitting in the pits tinkering with their YellowBurgers and such.
Me, I go to the field to FRY, not to fool around.
And who shows up at all the prominent meats, with a booth full of spare parts and grilling advice?
You are paying for both support and R&D costs. All that development and testfrying is not free, you know.

FYI,
The factory raised the price on Tam's F-16 prior to him receiving the initial shipment, but he is honoring the original price to everyone who has pre-ordered, eating the price increase himself. The manufacturers hate price increases just as much as the consumers, if BVM increased the prices on his products Im sure he had a good reason to do so, not to make more profit as some may think.

Vioburger, schmioburger, what's the difference as long as the guys laying out the cash are happy! What works in the good old US does not always apply in the rest of the world.

Vioburgers are very tasty but here, in the land of the financially challenged with gas at $7 a gallon ( you think it's getting expensive!!)they are not perceived as good value for money i.e. the equivalent of $2,300 for a Balsa bandit which you then have to invest a further 100 / 150 hours or so building.

If, as you suggest they are bringing ARF production back to the US what will that do for ARF prices? A $5,000 Bobcat?

John
Another country heard from! Like you can even GET an edible burger in Engeland? Where, at Little Chef? Open mouth, insert hoof!

I hear you on the different perspective overseas on BVM...they are MUCH more expensive there, and they don't have the same image as here.
$5000 for a US made BVM Bobcat ARF? Sure, why not? The rumor is the new big bandit arf made here in the USA is $6000.

"That is a tasty Vioburger. Do you mind if I have some of your tasty Viobeverage to wash down this tasty Vioburger?"

from VioFiction, starring Samuel L Violett and David Travolta.

Back on subject, I am in the middle of a relatively large project and every evening I mutter under my breath that I wish the instructions were of the quality of BVM. They're not bad, I am just spoiled. I am happy to pay for this kind of quality.
I love that hand gesture Jackson makes when he says "...wash this down..."

I also love the part where he says "Does Marcellus Violett look like a b****? Huh? Does Marcellus Violett look like a b****?"

hey guys, I didn't want to start a Familly Feud here! [X(]

we're all brothers, aren't we? KISS & MAKE UP!

BTW, some feel that BVM is a little pricey even over here.... don't want to start anything, but it's a little like BMW, some will pay 4 it & some won't [8D]

now don't come screaming at me PLS, it's just my opinion

No it isn't. In the UK we have to pay 17.5% VAT that puts it up to £850 for the F15 so for once we are getting a model at the same price as the US. Well done Skymasters and Al's Hobbies!
If it's going to the government, it's not going to Skymasters or distributors. Hence the profit margin in the US is much higher than in Europe.
So we need competition to lower the US cost...

I think it's just about EVERYONE who is mishandeling ALL of the models that are produced.
Just try and find more than 6 videos that don't have someone smashing their jets into the ground or doing the wing tip touch dance on main gear touchdown!!
Just cause you're ROYALTY sure doesn't make you any better of a pilot than anyone else.

So true. Agreed. Having dealt with co-op boards and country clubs that pored over my bank statements and through my underwear drawer, I have to say that it's about time to make sure that only the RIGHT people fly BVM. I propose a little questionaire to cull out the chaff and poseurs. Just fill it out and send it in to BVM HQ at Winter Haven, along with a certified check for $7000:

1. You have a dog. His name is:
A. Scooter
B. Bandit
C. Viper
D. Mr. Froofles

2. Your eyesight would be best described as:
A. Steely gaze
B. Could freeze a gang of ghetto gang bangers with one glance
C. Cold blue stare of an Ex-naviator
D. Thick glasses with a bandaid around the center

3. Your first words in the morning upon waking are:
A: Boo-Yah!
B: Last night's Aeropoxy should be set by now...
C: I wish Bob made BVM-Logo bedsheets.
D: Wonder if the hobby store got my new GWS Zero props in?

4. Do you own a trailer?
A. Yes, one.
B. Yes, one with "BVM Jets" painted on the sides.
C. Yes, three, one for my Hogs, one for my BVM Jets, one for my jetskis.
D. No, I can fit my models in my minivan.

5. To tow my trailer to a meet every weekend, I use:
A. A Hummer. Not the new little girly one.
B. A F-350 dually turbo diesel.
C. Charlton Heston Special Edition Super Suburban, with black leather upholstry, steer-horn hood ornament, XM Sattelite radio, and DVD
system in the sunvisors so you can watch the Superman 04 video while driving.
D. Public transportation.

6. If Bob Violett opened up an all-jet community with houses around a central paved 1000x200 runway in Florida, you would:
A. Call your broker and tell him to sell some Harley-Davidson stock
B. Look in your sock drawer and couch cushions, come up with $350k or so
C. Make some calls to reps, find out which is the BIGGEST and BEST house, THEN call your broker
D. Attempt to discuss it with your wife

7. Your toothbrush is:
A: A Reach Plus by Johnson and Johnson
B: The same one you were issued at Parris Island
C: Still new in the package
D: Anodized purple

8. Foreigners are:

A: Funny-looking
B: Useful for slave labor
C: The cause of all our problems
D: Small greenish figures running in your head-up-display night vision just before you pull the pickle

9. Have you ever owned a Yellow Aircraft kit:

A: Sure, in the early days, but only because Bob did not make an F-4 back then.
B: Bought one, it was cute, gave it to a neighbor's kid.
C: Well, yes, and the wings snapped after five flights. Almost hit a bus full of nuns. Learned my lesson, and you should, too. It's not
"cheaper" in the long run. Buy it right the first time, trust me on this, son.
D: HELLS, no.

10. What engine do you use in your jets:

A: Jetcat
B: Jetcat
C: Jetcat
D: Not Jetcat.

11. The #1 Speed Dial position on your cellphone is occupied by:

A: BVM factory front desk
B: Any Shulman except Leon
C: Bob Himself
D: Your wife

12. You have just crashed your new Bobcat. It failed to come out of a dive. Probably due to radio interference from a CJM rep. What
do you do?

A: Have your pitboys go put out the fire in the cornfields.
B: Make an absurdly high offer on any BVM rep's plane that is ready to go, have his transfer his radio settings to your 14z, fly again
within the hour.
C: Call Winter Haven and get TWO new Bobcats.
D: Suddenly realize you will be paying 23% interest on $11,242 across FOUR different credit cards for what is now a pile of smoking fiberglass shards for the next four years, and that you are way out of your league.

Anyway, fill it out and send it in.
There will be a different test involving physical training, morals, means, and trustworthiness if you want the new Super Giant Bandit. But if you were on the list of eligible buyers, you would already know that.

The nerve, to think that a "commoner" could own and fly a BV jet! I mean what have we become here in America to think that a guy (or gal)who doesn't have a Dr, or PHD before or after his name or seven figures in the bank could do this? I'm shocked, shocked I tell you... to think a "COMMONER" would consider becoming part of the exclusive leage of RC Jet Pilots, what nerve! So being a commoner as I am, will no doubt mean that I'll have to sell off my jets and get my rubber band models out, after all, we commoners need something to fly too[] Yup, we commoners need to know our place alright, and to think that all this time I believed this was a sport / hobby to be enjoyed by everyone, didn't know until now that only the privileged by rank or by bank, we're above us commoners. But then what do I know, I'm just a commoner?

What is the point of this thread? If you don't like the price any manufacturer has set for their product.. then don't buy it, but please quit whining about it.

Jets aren't much different then the country hick building a 69 camero in his garage with an extra 20 grand....just different priorities with what money you've got....IMHO

Mark

I think there is a bigger resale market for a Camero though.
