RE: FIJR Week is Here !!!
Just got back Bob-O.....
Second Sean's comments......this is THE best sport jet work yet to come out of BVM........fuse splits just aft of the wing so easy to get engine and pipe out...similar to F-100 but improved engineering......easy to get at everything from one huge hatch from front to back of fuse top......Kingcat-like gear, just beefier......beefy flex-plates all around.....all seam lines are taken out at factory........built in hard points for tanks and rockets......slick quick release for stores.....custom painted cockpit with instruments and on and on......new bypass will fit any huge motor, i.e. P-180, P-200, Olympus......lots of room for fuel and smoke tank.....Navy Training and 2 sport schemes so far....plus unpainted too......
Time to get in line.........
Missed you......great meeting.....seems about 120 guys checked in, but Texas seemed to have fallen off the earth.....
Cya....Tom
P.S. .........Sean's fiance, Julie, is one fine lady........can't imagine how he keeps focused on jets when she is around.....

Gee Whiz guys [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]
All I've heard for the ride home and for the last couple days is what "wonderful" friends I have! So much for the guise of getting to a jet meet to chase women, drunken stupers, et all.................[X(]
I've sent her the link to see the kind sentiments. Sure enjoyed seeing all of you. I broke out my bobcat box tonight and started going through things. See all of you in March with a much brighter airplanes!
In the mean time, I'm pulling the kingcat out for some fun this weekend, suggest you all do as well before the weather sets in.

RE: FIJR Week is Here !!!
Wren Turbines, represented by Roger Parrish, afforded me the opportunity to assemble one of their MW54 MK III engines at the meeting.....
Absolutely perfect fitment of all the precision machined parts....excellent full color picture manual........took about 3 hours.....
It was then installed in Jason Fletcher's Intro Boomerang and flew the afternoon......
Excellent turbine and a great way to save $300.00 bucks by building it yourself with the additional advantage of doing your own maintainence down the line......just call Wren, give Sarah your CC # and spares will be on the way......no middleman....another way to save a few bucks....
Another build was also reviewed in current Oct-Nov RCJI........

Mark,
The USMC Grey Ghost squadron is a very nice color scheme, actually one of my favorites. Although being a former Marine has no influence on the subject.
