That's how lynch mobs are. They just grab someone and string him up. The next morning, when the hangover wears off, the often find they hung the wrong guy, or the missing child they thought he had killed was actually sleeping over at the neighbor's house, or whatever.
Surprised to hear the mob thing from SOME of the people here. Not surprised from others.
Oh, man, I realized I have mugenkidd's hysterical but quite over the line picture in as a quote on my post, I need to edit that out!

Here's something that's actually a contribution. Maybe.
Someone said they remember the "good old days of RCO" where this kind of thing never happened.
Well...that's kind of a misty-eyed rose-colored view of the past, it was the same thing there, just different brands. Back then all the cool kids were flying RAM, and RAM could do no wrong, and Rei and Albert were these great guys who contributed so much to the hobby, were so cool to hang out with at all the jet meets and "swap stories that would make your toes curl", and how all the "real" modellers were flying RAM, and anybody who said different would get ostracized and slammed...and then RAM went out of business, and the cool kids moved onto another brand.
Anyway, my point being there were the same old fights, the same old people shilling products, the same old manufacturers bashing rivals, same stuff that goes on here.
My grandfather used to go all misty-eyed, talking about how when he was a kid you could buy a week's supply of steak for a nickel, how everybody was good and honest, all that stuff. He had blocked out the reality, which was he served in several wars, lived through a depression, black people had to sit on the back of the bus or get lynched, and children died of diseases as their parents watched helplessly. He chose to put a rose-colored filter on and only remember the parts he liked, and if you are pining for the good old days of RCO, I think you are doing the same.

et, all these woe is me and i told you so is why these guys are looking to ban you. it is not that they disagree, do you not see the difference between discussion and just plain old annoying. when you mention circle jerks and that you dont swing that way, implying i was gay in another thread. you may find that sarcastic humor funny, but good old america just finds it annoying. and further, mugen and et, when all you ever show pics of here on rcu is hooptie toki size jets that looked like they are chopped out with a hatchet, yet you profess to be an expert on models of which you clearly have not flown nor owned , and when called out on your lack of experience on such said model, you take it to a personal attack. if all you have is toki or whatever model, i give you two thumbs up for being a modeler, but you lay your opinions out as fact sent straight from the almighty, and your reply to all others is they are just full of bull with a personal snipe. am i to be impressed that you can remember all the facts of the past. nope. do you have your own perception. yep. whopee that you can spell big words without spell check, i can top that, i have good manners without someone requesting it of me and i can spell. so you found the great jet legend/skymaster conspiracy, great, does this give you all wisdom over all matters in all threads. post all you want i dont care, i just wish you had a little consideration for your fellow modeler when dropping that last little dig in your post. go ahead, reply to my post in some demeaning way about the south or in whatever backhanded way you choose to. i have tried to banter with you a little here on rcu but you soon get nasty, as if you are the only one allowd to be sarcastic. heck i dont even know why i am trying rationally to discuss this. but lately it seems half the threads are hijacked. out, barry

To all those in favor of closing this one up please say "I". If we get three in favor we will lock this up and get back to our regularly scheduled RC jet programming. Also in the future if you see a post/thread that you feel is not productive in any way please report it. Your reports are confidential and if we receive several for a thread/post we can act faster and with more confidence that we are doing what the community here desires.

I don't think this will ever go away since most of the people on the forum already know most everything they need to know. Most every question you can come up with can be answered using the search function. The only exception is for new items (technology, planes, dealers, set-up updates, radios, etc.).
One thing is for sure, you can't take everything you read on an open forum at face value.
Good luck putting rules around this one.

You know what was the WORST one? When that guy started in with how evil the Deland Golden Hawks were for only allowing jets to fly at their field once a year for the Jets Over Deland meet. This guy started in about how awful they were, how they only wanted the money, yadda yadda yadda...he even called them the DELAND TALIBAN. All for just holding a jet meet.
As I remember, the meet went on anyway, and the POLICE HAD TO ESCORT THE GUY AWAY FROM THE MEET when he showed up.
Man...that was JERRY SPRINGER CENTRAL.

This is funy because you truly have no clue what goes on. In case you didnt know, that meet has been boycotted ever since and I dont think anyone ever goes to it anymore because the guy was right.

We have enough in favor to close this and put it to bed. Let's all talk about jets in this forum and leave the personal stuff at the door. Let's all clear the slate, put the grudges behind and remember that here in this forum you have a select few people that are LIKE YOU and actually love rc jets. How many of these like minded people who share your passion do you find in your everyday "normal" walk of life. When you find one you should be happy that you are not alone! Enjoy guys and let's get back on track.
