RE: Propjet, mig 27 target drone
These are old pictures. I still have the aircraft in storage. Waiting a transfer to Norfolk, VA. After things settle down, I plan on finishing it. I would really like to get another one. I learned alot from the first build and research. Would make the second aircraft much better.

Photos of my days with RS systems can be seen here.... http://www.hcrcm.com/gallery/thumbna...album=8&page=1 Some neat shots of the Migs in front of the guns and other side projects to include the TWIN MIG that was powered my Supertiger 2000. I have been flying Migs for over 20 years now and I do beleive I hold the record for most flights on an airframe and most total flights.

Howdy all,, Those migs look great,, Super job Meps, RSBwing thaT Looks great in the sky...
Well I couldn't wait any longer, I finally put my OS 70 4 stroke on the Mig 27, I've been waiting to get a bigger motor, well one of my other planes decided the air frame didn't want to hold together any longer so I took the motor from that and put it on the Mig, I've had the thing for almost 3 years now. Anyway, It didn't make it past the flight line, as soon as the nose wheel lifted into the air she was tracking left and there was no way to steer her back to the right I washoping it would have cleared the endof the flight line but it didn't and the wing is now crumpled... LOL it looked like it was going to fly just fine with the low powered engine on there, if it only stayed straight for 8 more feet I might have seen it fly it was exciting though LOL,, Heres the video of the crash.

That's not crumpled! Get out the gorilla glue and get to it!
That thing looks like it could be flying tomorrow. I would (and have) put a bigger elevator and ailerons on the thing.
Did the nose wheel lift without the thing taking off? guess you ought to hold it on a little longer...

Oh I plan on Gorilla gluing it for sure, already started the process, all the moving surfaces also need to be replaced, I've been a builder for over 35 years so i don't have a problem trying to fix things, but I've never really worked with foam, this mig was given to me by a friend of mine years ago. I pieced it all back together for the photos, its in 4 or 5 parts. with little pieces of debre all over the place.

I crashed my mig too and put a big crack right at the base of the wing. I drilled a long hole perpindicular to the break and glued the wing back and slid a carbon fiber rod into the hole, the wing was stronger than when it was new.

Excellent idea I'll have to try that... Thanks, There is lots of chunks missing in places too, I was thinking I might have to glass it like a few others have done, never worked with anything like that either, any advice on some good products that would be good to use on the foam stuff would be appreciated.

With out getting into details of the differences in the molds. The best way is to look at the ID plate on the top center of the wing. IMHO, the Goldberg version is worth about $50 and the RS version is worth $75+. The difference being the molded in aluminum spar and engine mount.

I found a video on YouTube of the military doing target practice on one of these Migs:

I still have the mig available, as posted earlier in the thread. Still not too interested in shipping it though.

Make that sealed bids..

Huck,
He charges 175.00 plus 30.00 shipping for the entire pacakge (Plane, engine, servos). $50.00 for just the body and he'll make deals for larger orders as well.
