Guardian,
I hesitate to answer your poll because I have not tried all of them, but I just got the Century Jet gear for my scaled up Ziroli Panther and they appear to be very rugged. They have 3/4" S.S. struts and very heavy hardware. They are not light (3 lbs.) but they appear to be very strong. I'm going to reinforce the formers in the fuse. that hold the gear mounts with carbon fiber so that the landing loads don't pull the mounts completely out of the fuse, because there does not appear to be any weak link in the and all of the loads look like they will go into the fuse (instead of bending the gear strut, which is a good thing).
Another club member has Robarts in his Hot Spot and has had quite a few bent struts on what I thought should have been OK landings. My SpringAir struts bend on almost every landing, but the gear itself is so light compaired to the plane its in (P-80 powered 'Roo), that's a good thing, because if the struts were very stiff, I think the gear mechanisms themselves or the relatively weak mounts in the composite fuse. would be damaged...

You need to look at the JMP MK30 gear.
I've never seen one fail yet.
I've seen some bad landings on them to the point that they bent parts, but never collapsed out from under the plane.( They were really, really bad landings)
Check them out on their web sit at Jetmodelproducts .com

I wonder how many of the guys who chose Robart have tried the others? They seem to have the largest selection, and the lowest price, but I'm not sure that they have the best quality and I'm very sure they don't have the best customer service - especially for custom work! I don't know about you, but when I get ready to drop +$500 on a discretionary purchase, I don't want to get the attitude from the seller that they are doing me a favor by taking my money and that they'll get to it when they can - it doesn't exactly inspire confidence...

Well, I currently own a set of:
Robarts for the Ziroli Panther - Nice gear/Struts
JMP MK30s for the JMP T-33 - Very nice gear/Struts
BVM for the BVM T-33 - Very nice gear/struts
BVM for their F-86 - Very nice gear/struts
Robarts for the PlanesPlus F-86 - Nice gear/struts
Having said all this about those, I also have a set of Sierra Precision gear and struts for the Mark Frankel Skyray. These are head and shoulders above any of the previously mentioned gear. The others can't touch the Sierra Precision for "beefiness", machining quality, and slop free operation. They are a true work of art. The main gear rotate 90 degrees for scale operation on the Skyray. By the way, this set was only a little more expensive than the two Robarts mentioned and far less expensive than the BVMs or the JMPs.
If you have ever owned a set of Sierra precision gear, I don't think you would be voting for anything else.
