Default Tam F-16

Everyone is probably working on their F-16's by now and mine should be here today. Got a Bee from Dreamworks, and everything else needed. The kit will be here today. My question is, anyone moved along in the build yet, and does anyone have the 10X setup figured out yet. I would love to be able to just load the setup and go fly as soon as it is ready. Thanks. Bob

I can't do much on mine until UPS does a damage inspection, so I am stuck with detailing the cockpit a little bit......

Sorry to hear that. Mine arrived today and great shape, and a bonus, the other one I bought from a member here showed up too, in great shape. Don't know why I need two, but it sure is cute. Started on the build. Bob

Up date on progress. One of the stabs binds a little when installed. A little lube seemed to help. Only problem so far. The Hitec 5645 servos don't fit the Tam servo mounts without modification, but I cut the mount in two pieces, and then epoxied it in. Should be fine. Working on wireing the tail controls now, and then on to the equipment installation. The gear and brakes are really very nice, and should work well. Anyone else making any progress? Bob

Working on mine today.
One elev is a little stiff. Did you get two spacers for each elev half?

No, only one, and I really don't see how you could put two in. Wonder if there was a change in the thickness. I have another kit here, but haven't opened it yet. I lubed the bushings, and it freed up some. What servos are you using. Bob

Looks good. Gear is my next step. The cinch bolt for the fin was missing, but I had one that would work. All the wireing done for the elev and rudd. Leak checked the tanks, and they were ok. How many Ozs, anyone know? Bob

Is that 32 oz total, or are there two tanks? How long can a 14 pounder fly on 32 oz?
Thanks

I used three dabs of PFM adhesive. If you don't know what PFM is, it can be found at your local crafts store like Michael's for about $3-$4 (known as E6000 there). Comes in a gray tube. Works great and don't need much. Use just a little so you can remove them if you have to....also used to hold the propane bottle and air tanks in place.

Last week I was in the hurry try to ship everythings out.
So unable to QC the brake/retract valve and air fill check valve.
Last week my customer notify me the retract and brake valve are leaking air.
So I take a look the one I have here.
I did find the leak cause by the O-ring was too small and under load it will leak.
SO I have order correct size O-ring.
Next fill days I'll mail out the O-ring kit to replace them.
As for air fill check valves. If you guys have a leak. Send it back to me and I'll send out new one.
Sorry guys,

Tam, or anyone else. Just ordered a whip antenna, and wondered where you guys are installing it. I am looking at just behind the canopy? This little jewel has the best fit and finish of any arf I have ever delt with, except maybe the Skymaster. The F16 is at least as good as theirs. Bob

Haven't had much time to put mine together. Still saveing up for a P-60. I got the gear in and put together a cockpit kit. It took some modifing but it looks pertty good. Sill have to paint helmet. Ordered Hs5125 ,and hs5245's from Mid-West R/C for $52 and $45 Seems like he has a very good price on Hitec servos.

Its an old AMT plastic model kit. It's in 1/12th scale but it looks to fit fine. The pilot is a Just the Pits in 1/9th. It took a lot of cutting as it's a little large to fit in the seat and was too tall, but overall it looks pretty good. The next project is to color the canopy as it just doesn't look right clear. Going to use the Rit dye process as it worked well on my CBM F-16.

There are some on E-bay now for $24' although I got mine for $12.00. Look under plastic models, "F-16 cockpit". Companies are Italeri and AMT

Hi Tam,

No hard feelings now. I know you are running a business and servicing many customers. We have mutual friends so we will hang out together in the fields in the near future. I love flying turbines, so I wish you guys can continue providing value service to customers. I hope our comments will make this turbine hobby a better place for all.

I will continue buying your products and service. Knowing your characters from our mutual friends, though you and I had yet to meet, you have earned my respect. I have already have the Wren 54 and all digital servos for your F16 RTF in the next few months. Next time, I would buy your plane in RTF so I can just fuel and go fly.

Mike
