Hi guys
I`m ready to spray paint this model of mine. I will apply a gloss white colour,to the whole model and then this project comes to a halt. It will be going up for sale as a complete model. Just add a transmitter and go fly. Anybody who is interessted may send me a PM.
Regards
Craig

Hi Guys
I`ve just applied the first coat of white paint onto the front fuselage section. It will be rubbed down and then a second coat will be applied.

No,I`m not afraid of the wing, not holding. Both wings will hold for sure. I`m moving over to turbine helis and its an expensive change to make.

RE: Skymaster MB-339
The front equipment tray has to be lowered, when using servos and air valves, for the brakes, retracts etc. The reason for this is because there is not enough clearance between the cockpit floor and the equipment tray. I made a new plywood tray and remounted it,30mm lower than what it was. Now there will be enough room for the servos and valves.

The servos and air valves are in position on the equipment tray and must be connected to their respective servos.

The inner wheel doors, for the main wheels, have to be connected to the oleo legs. I made an aluminium bracket and fitted a ball joint onto it. Then it was mounted onto the oleo leg and connected to the wheel door, via a ball link assembly.

Just completed the connecting of the main wheel door and it works very well. You have to make your own mounting brackets for this task.

RE: Skymaster MB-339
Craig,
Haven't seen any more post from you on the MB-339, are you still building it?
I just received my SM MB-339 (not ARF Plus) from AirPac a week ago and I have some question if any previouse MB-339 owner can help me.
(1) Main tires- I have the none air fill type, are they too soft for a 45lb plane? I don't have the nose wheel yet, it's backodered from AirPac.
(2) Rudder - It's bolted through 2 -2" stub in the fuselarge only, are they secure enough for normal flight manuvers?
(3) Air cylinders - What size & length for nose, main door & speed brake?
Regards,
Lawrence

I would also like to add a few words about Anton's great business ethics.
At Jetpower I ordered a Dragon kit, to be delivered to me three weeks later. Time passed but no dragon arrived. Anton sent me an email telling me that the quality of that particular batch out of which my kit was to be sent was not up to his entire satisfaction and to make it up to me he offered me to chose ANY of the Skymaster line kits and he would send it immediately. I accepted and a week later an F15 (Skymaster, not extreme Jets)arrived at my doorstep. Mind you, I could have gone for the more expensive ones and I know he would oblige, no questions asked. What a great service. Thanks Anton and thanks Morne for helping out.

RE: Skymaster MB-339
Hi everyone... Just to report for precaution to beef up your wing tubes.
A few days ago hideki noguchi's plane on his second flight had a wing tube failure in flight. No abrupt manuever was made,he was just clicking some up trim and it just folded on the root then crashed to the ground. Good thing nobody got hit.
Im trying to obtain videos to prove that no undue stress was given to the plane.
Im posting this to call attention of the manufacturer and for mb owners to increase the thickness of their wing tubes or fill the tube with light balsa to prevent tube collapse.
Its such a great flying airplane which i witnessed the maiden flight here in the philippines. Second flight was done in done in tokyo japan where it was brought by the owner.
Japanese rc pilot was a carden aircraft tournament winner with more than 30 years in rc experience.

the stock wing tubes are weak .. be it either the hollow or webbed ones. I use a piece or square aluminum stock jammed into the round wing tube at center through around 60% of the tubes span/length on mine and its super tough ... 1.5 lbs weight gain however , and the tube holds great. I do like to pull some Gs , which i would not dare do on the stock tube ..

RE: Skymaster MB-339
Hi john! Thank u for the immediate reply.
Im doing the emails for the owner. Since he is japanese, english emails might be a little difficult so i am doing it for him.
This is the mb 339 i bought last year john.
2 flights only.
First flight was routine flying a 5 minute circuit pattern with no aerobatics and no dives. Just normal stress free flight ,followed by the smoothest landing that i have ever witnessed on a jet.
Second flight- normal level flight and wing tube folded.
Plane totaled but landing gears survived. K 170 engine damaged but maybe serviceable.
Thank u john. Pls let me know what ac tion we will do on this.

We haven't received mail from the owner. Can you ask owner to send mail to [email protected] ?Meanwhile,we'll have a through check on MB339 tube.
Thanks.

RE: Skymaster MB-339
I think immediate advisory to all mb owners should be sent immediately.
Wojtek method of correction is very simple and should be considered.
Flat aluminum installed vertical is the best without increasing the weight too much.
