I think mine is about the same...
I havnt really balanced mine! I just made sure the nose returned to
the ground, when i pushed the plane down from the tail. Ali test flew it,
and he said the CG was bang on

I sent an email to Alan Cardash asking this same question. His reply (Jan '06) was the correct C of G location is 7 3/4" from the leading edge measured at the fuselage. [/i] [/i] Feel free to send him email, [email protected] . He responds quickly and is happy to help.

happy Boomin!!!!

I've got mine at 7 3/4 with the UAT full and it flies great. This plane will fly so slow you will not believe it's a jet.

Ok Guys, where would that put the C OF G on just the center section ? I.E. with out the booms wings & tailplane, it's much more manageable that way. Ray

Use th bulkhead at the rear of the main tank. Alan recommended that, and its worked for me.

Sorry, but you have to assemble the whole thing to get an accurate CG. You can't do it that way. Each individual fuselage built by other modellers with differing installations can vary in weight, so balancing the fuselage alone will not work to get the overall CG. It's like taking the CG point of a chunk of lead, then using it in the nose. The weight is what matters when weighing one part only of the plane.
With the tanks empty, wheels down, hatch off, just pick the BB. up by the former aft of the fuel tank, (the one between the turbine and the tank) and the nose should just drop a couple of degrees. that's the furthest back you can safely take it.
If the tail drops, add more noseweight.
Alan Cardash
