Default Skymaster F-15 Arf how big? 109" or 95"

Hello All

Need everyone’s help, and comments!

I’m just wondering if Skymaster were to make a Big F-15 what size would you like to see. I have been wanting a Big F-15 for a while now and im lobbying Skymaster to make a big F-15 in the future. How big is the question?

1/8 Scale 95.7" Long (2430.78 mm) 64.2" Wingspan (1630.68 mm)

20 lbs and up turbine

1/7 Scale 109.37" Long (2778.03 mm) 73.37" Wingspan (1863.63 mm)

27 lbs and up turbine

Length data from Wikipedia

Of course to make a jet that big practical the nose would have to slide on and off like a Wing. the Stabs would be plug in at the field, along with the rudders. If the airplane were configured like that It would make it transportable.

I would also like to see a removable turbine mount section and intakes so you can have twins or a single turbine.

I’m for the bigger F-15 more options on the power plant / power plants. More detail.

Thank you for your help and comment!

Hello Duke.

I voted for the 1/8 scale. It would fit into my average European car without problems. The 1/7 scale is a bit too big for my car. (I've been wanting a bigger car for some time, but my wife won't let me)

I like the idea of being able to choose between single or twin engines, although I think that most would go for single engine due to the extra weight and price tag.

Say hello to the rest of the Airpac gang from me. You guys are wonderfull people.

My vote is for the "BIG ONE". It would be nice to see a larger scale F-15 out there or maybe a bigger F-22 ???? If you get a minute Duke, give me a call. Thanks

Duke,

Im with you on the larger F-15, but here are a couple things I would like to see in it...

*armament/drop tank package available
*more scale nose
*detailed cockpit kit available
*detailed gear doors, not flat pieces of FG
*large fuel capacity
*available as a kit or ARF which would allow you to adapt some of the former installation for your specific equipment before the formers were glued in
*Speed brake with more torque to allow full deployment while inflight
*Since SM has a C model and a B model maybe an E model??

Just my thoughts,
Mike Mills

Hi Stig

Ill say Hi to everyone here. Just out of curiosity what do most of the jet guys that you fly with drive in Europe?

Nighthawk 117, I will try and give you a ring tomorow.

Mike good ideas. Im thinking if we make the nose slide on and off with the ease of a wing. Changing it to a B or C or D or E would be very easy.

Anyway thank you all for your comment I will pass them on to Skymaster. Keep em comming!

Hi Duke:
Yes on the large one. Please on the E model, so many Schemes to go with. Byron had a large one and it was a great flyer.

Hi Duke.

Most people have mini vans or a station wagons like the once in the attached pitures. The cars you guys drive in the US are mostly bigger, so I can understand you guys want a bigger F-15. Well, I love the F-15's and I've had a few of them, so I welcome any of them.

I would say go for the big one! With the twin turbine option, then the belly of the fuselage is easyer to make correct. Hate to see the smaller F15 with the flat belly. and if you can remowe the nose section, fins and elevators there should be no problem transporting it in a smaller car.

Hi all:

The old Byron F-15 was 1:8 scale. It is big too much, but would be great a little bit more big.

I put you a Byron F-15 of my friend Jorge Docampo.

Hey Duke, go big. You would probably get a purchase from me.

If you get a chance, could you get Chris' email or have him drop me a line?

Thanks, BRG, Keith.

I echo what the others say on this, bigger is always better! I am only personally interested in big jets nowadays. All my turbines are larger units and I really prefer the authority/appearance that the larger aircraft offer in flight! While I dont like F-15's personally,I know they fly great but I just don't care for the looks of them however.I still stand that BIGGER is the way to go in today's jet market.I really would LOVE to see a F-18F or C model in the future from you guys in the 109" class!! And make it more scale with operational canopy and LE slats-that would be my dream plane then as I love F-18's!! My SM F-18F is merely 2 weeks out from a maiden flight-cant wait!

While we are on the subject of SM Future designs.I also would really like to see a BIG SU-35 in this size class that could be flown on one large turbine. You design one of these and I will buy one in a heartbeat! I'm sure others would too .This is my all time favorite Russian fighter-what a beaut!!

Most people seem to be liking the larger model. However once you go above 100 inches, you will severely limit your market.
The average estate car(station wagon) will not accomodate anything larger, & if it won't fit, you won't sell very many.

My advice is to keep it under 100 inches if you want to sell more.

I personally like some of the Airworld models, but because of their size I cannot buy them.

Best regards

I couldn't agree more, a nice scale gear to go with it would be nice too.

Big or small, I like them all, as long as they are for turbines. Mike
