RE: 2006 Austin Central Texas Jet Rally
I'm in my trailer it's freakin raining here.
I got 6 flights yesterday on the Rookie II's and one flight today before it rained.
Pray for sunshine boys!
David Reid is building a Kingcat right now under the shed. Should be ready to fly in the Morning.
So far the boys from Colorado are here, the Austin Gang, Vernon, and David Reid. James Love is here with a Beautiful new motorhome. We're all just sitting around telling lies.
Joel from San Antonio got two flights in on his bobcat this morning.
That's about it for at least the next few hours as best I can tell.
It's just wet.............

Pat,
Probably not. Since starting full scale flying lessons in December I've put the R/C on hold for a while. I soloed on March 21st and aiming to have my PPASEL completed towards June or July. Then I will get back into R/C. I was thinking of driving up for Saturday but not sure yet. Chuck my usuall co-pilot is stuck babysitting this weekend so he is not going to make it either.
So please keep us updated and post some pictures!!!

You boys have fun. UAL is trying to insert a 737 up my butt in 4 days. 4 days of systems academics followed by the big test Sat after I get back to DEN. Now if I could just figure out a way to get the wings to fold up before the big finish.

Im back, had a great time. Weather was great friday and saturday.
We got about 4 hours worth of High Def footage we will be cutting together.
I lost my A10-X!
Not sure what happened yet.
I need to check the ecu for failsafe.
I either had a battery failure or went into momentary lockout.
It rolled to the right after takeoff and just held that position all the way into the dirt.
Motor looks good, but a dent in the tailcone, will send it all in to jetcat this week.

The top gun award was given to Joey Tamez who put on some crisp flights with his super bandit
Vernon Montgomery won both people's choice and pilot's choice with his F-100
Bob Price would have won a sympathy prize if there were won
stats
38 pilots
16 pizzas
14 lbs of fajita meat
60 steaks
5 crashes
probably 200 flights on saturday alone
0 body count
seems like a good time had by all

this is what you get when you try to take a picture of one of Joey's high speed knife edge passes.......
seriously though, more pics to follow - I don't really know what belongs to who, so I'll let you guys sort it out
