Default INSANE EDF

Well our local flying field just reopened after being flooded out and Tam and I went to get a flight on the new project. 52inch EDF F-16. Weighs about 7lbs and has better than 1:1 thrust to weight ratio.... Insane vertical performance for its size and weight.... retracts, all composite , panel lines... uses elevons only. Can't wait for the finished product... Flight time is equivalent to Turbine (7 min) and performance was equal to or better than turbine... (instant thrust) Sounds is unique... high pitch lots of thrust... almost sounds like a hybrid ducted fan/small turbine...

Enjoy the pics..

Jimmy

That is nice.
It would even be better if take off and landing on retractable wheels.
I have not clock how fast my go. But at have throttle. It already too fast for small plane.

I think the only reason it does not have retracts is because they are flying from a cow paddock. I do not think power is the issue. - John.

Ok, how long is it? Is the 52" figure quoted above the length or the wingspan?

Isn't it a shame you can't hear the planes anymore, just loud music, if I wanted to hear music I would turn the radio on!

Even when you order tapes of different events, you can't hear any of the airplanes just the lousy music!

Anyways great looking jets, ok where can I get one, you got my mouth watering again.

I ordered tapes of the "Reno" races once, same thing just loud music, I sent the tapes back for a refund!

I agree with you on the music!
It has been a pet pev of mine for a long time , i want to hear the sound of the engines be it ducted fan, turbine , or what ever.
If i wanted music i would buy a music CD!. Not a flying video.....................

What kills me is that like clockwork as soon as an edf gets airborne on maiden or otherwise you here that blubbering right away of some slimer in the pits. It never fails. My son and i have stopped flying our edf's at our club and now go to a local college that has a good size field. I will be getting the Tam F-16 as soon as the shipment arrives. I'm working on a Yellow A-4 for 120mm edf also. Doug

Incase above post is read wrong...

Just trying to find out what are the differences!
Will it be cheaper? more scale? more details? More carbon or just glass? Will it be sprayed, Kit or ARTF?
