Default My New DV8R

Here's a couple pics of my DV8R. It has about 5 flights and is shaking out very nicely. The plane flies great and doesn't have any bad tendencies. I have a P120 on it but it REALLY doesn't need it.

How many years of build time???

I'm asking, because I'm about to start building mine.

Looks good Gary. A friend of mine is finishing his up too. What brakes and wheels are you using? My friend ordered the Robart set up in November and just got them.

That's too funny

I will be starting on mine next month once I'm through with the repair on my hot-spot.

I purchased the plane framed up however the wing as built was unusable. Patrick at PCM sold me a new wing kit and that only took 2 weeks of casual building to finish. After looking at the manual and the framed up fuse I would say the plane wouldn't take too long to build. It looks like a big project but the engineering of the kit makes for a quick frame up.
I used the retracts from Digitech electronics (Sandor Kruise) they are their Jet1A brand of air up spring down with a knee action strut on all three struts. The wheels and brakes are from my poor old Eurosport (may she rest in peace)

I didn't build the one I had so here is a photo. Hopefully it helps. The plastic was held on with a bunch of wood spacers about 1/4" between the plastic and the sheeting below in the gear well area.

Man, that is a sore subject with me. I bought a DV8R from Pat right when he said he was moving and ended up with odd "parts" in my opinion. Took almost 3 months to get a hold of Pat because he and Robart said I could only get retracts from him...well, no returned calls, no website...then I see Pat announced on BVM's team! Finally soke to Pat and he wanted me to ship back the "odd stab blanks" and he wanted to inspect them because he didn't believe me that they were off! That would be fine if he had handled thinsg right in the first place and gotten the canopy he promised and the Robarts ordered as he promised for several weeks but never did.

So...I am still owed a canopy and some replacement stab blanks because the ones he sent with my kit were messed up. Finally got the okay from Robart to order retracts direct from them.

To be honest...I am waaaaay over this project. I have a built fuse, wings and fins. If you want mine, I'll sell it to you at a good price.

I saw a DV8R fly this weekend and really enjoyed it BUT...time to move on...Pat burned a bridge BIG TIME!
