Steve,
Those are great shots! How did you end up installing the cockpit kit? We are trying to figure it out but are kinda curious as to what would be the easiest method. It does not look very easy so far. Any thoughts?
Also, could you take a pic of how you rigged up the rear nose gear strut door?
Thanks,
Beave
PS. Awesome looking jet!

Beave,
The cockpit is not bad at all to install, atleast mine wasn't.You Just need to trim down the outer lips on all 4 sides in order to get both front & rear tubs to go in easily. There is no need to remove the front tub so therefore I screwed mine in -just remove the screws then if you need to remove it for maintenance, etc. You'll most likely have to cut approx. a 1/4 inch off the rear tub at the front & back sections in order to get it to mate up to the front tub.
My builder just made a squared off bracket with a 1/16 ply square of wood to retain the rear nose strut door.I wont be able to get a picture until I go flying again this weekend.I keep my trailer inside my business during the week and there is no way of getting any of my jets out of there in my shop
Thanks for the compliments !!the pics don't do her justice,my builder did an "off the hook" job on this beauty

I'll be happy to snap you pics of any building detail you need, anything else you need a pic of ?
The P-120 is enough for the SM F-18F for most guys I'm sure,But in my opinion it is a marginal power plant for the Super Hornet.I like mine powered to the top of the scale ,according to SM specs the airframe calls for thrust up to 36 lbs.I feel atleast that a scale jet fighter especially an F-18 should have brute power.I like the aircraft carrier catalpult style takeoffs and blistering fast passes that only the higher thrust engines can offer.I like seeing a scale jet powered to where it has plenty of Umpphhh to go to straight out vertical on takeoff if you so desire.Plus with more thrust you overcome the drag much easier when carrying wing tanks & 2 pairs of missles which mine has.I have a Merlin 160(36 lbs) in mine and is one BEAST of an engine. You should hear the roar it makes on takeoff! The perfect engine for a Super Hornet. Very awesome stuff!!
