Default Michigan Jets

Just a reminder for those attending Michigan Jets, July 13-16. The Best Western is still holding the old rates. When registering you have to mention "Michigan Jets" to get the discounted rates. They still have some rooms available, but they will only keep them for a few more weeks. The direct number is 1734 676-8000

Hi Burt,

Did you check with the Airport if it was OK to camp there ? I'm looking forward to this great event and getting out of here for a while.

Michigan Jets will be held at the Grosse Ile Airport, same location as before. Check out our website for directions http://www.michiganjets.com/

Johnny,
No problem if you want to camp there, however there are no hook-ups.

This will be a great event, as always, and will raise money to help a very worthwhile charity.
Hope see you all there.

Joe

Looking forward to the event.

FWIW, this should be a must attend event for all jet pilots because all proceeds goes into the fight against leukemia.

As usual, the ghost will be there by the grace of the big man above

I wonder if the group from NY and NJ will be attending this one. Woj….do you have your ears on?.

I wouldn't miss this for anything. We look forward to this one particular event every year, even if it was held in Alaska we would attend.

Some great news for the people that like to eat good food. I spoke with the caterer today and we will have Surf & Turf for the banquet dinner. He is passing along some good prices with no profit. We want to thank all pilots in advance for helping us make some kids happy and possibly saving a life thru research.

I will be there on Friday representing the " Bandit Boys Club".

I think a few others from Ohio are coming also from what I heard at the Ashtabula jet rally over the weekend.

Looking forward to it!

Peter,
There's a dinner Saturday evening near the airport. We're having surf & turf, see Burt's post #8.
The cost is included in the registration fee. Additional details will be provided at registration.

Thanks Ed. Your sponsorship is greatly appreciated. Your sponsorship go directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. hope you will be able to meet some of the kids on Friday. It is through donations like yours, research has made it possible for the kids to live longer and have a better quality of life.
Regards,
Burt

Gary et al,
Thursday is set-up day. Flying can commence once the flight line is set up, which should be around noon. Of course if you get there earlier you can always help.

To all the pilots that attended, a special thanks for making this year a great success. Without you we would not be able to have such a wonderful show to help others.
To all the helpers who worked through the heat and did a great job. The impound group, registration, announcers, traffic control, traffic control spotters and facilities control we thank you.
The co-chairman, Curtis Wade & Joe McCarthy and the organizing committee.
It was a complete success and we are netting out about $9000 for the charities.
We love you guys for making it possible to put on a great show and helping someone less fortunate have a good day.

I had the chance to come on out and crew for one of the jet pilots at Michigan jets...Bill Jameson from PA with his JMP Hustler

I was extremely impressed with the efficient organization of Burt and his crew while I was there...

Despite the heat, humidity, soggy ground, and flies biting like vampire bats, there was never any letup in the professional attitude they all displayed.

Burt's wife Sheila and her crew did an outstanding job at the food stand, and if you didn't enjoy the dinner Saturday night then there's definitely a problem on your end.

Thanks Burt and all the Michigan fliers for an outstanding event....lookin' forward to next year..

Bill
