Avonds F 15 C of G Mine is real nose heavy
Hey guys
Trying to ballance my F-15 I am finding that mine is extreamly nose heavy. I did the 100 mm in front of F4 former. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong. I have a 1 pound lead wait in the back and its still a little nose heavy.
Thanks for the info
David

RE: Avonds F 15 C of G Mine is real nose heavy
David,
The Avonds F15 tends to always come out nose heavy unless you place a significant amount of heavy items behind the CG. When I built mine 2 years ago I placed 2 five cell sub C packs (receiver) and one 6 cell sub C pack (ECU) all NIMH plus 2 jr 511 servos and robart valves behind the rear main former. The fuel tanks are conformal and sit on the CG and the plane balanced perfectly with no other weight. A friend built his and placed batteries in the front, and as you are finding, he had to add 800 grams to the tail.
If possible I would suggest moving some weight rearward rather than adding more.
Regards,
Russell.

I had to fit two five cell sub C cell RX batteries in the rear to get the balance correct.
When you get it right, this is in my opinion the best flying F15 available.

Jim
