Details??? Video???

Was your classic NP Bobcat bounce on landing.

I had gone to idle about 3 feet above ground and when the mains hit the plane jumped up at a very nose high attitude like almost pointed vertical.
I gunned the throttle and then the plane rolled inverted (maybe from the torque or wing stall) and when that happened I went back to idle and she came down nose first from about 8' up.

Sorry no video [:'(]

You should be able to find anything you need here plus there is a similar thread on RCGroups, but yes at 3945 posts you dont get a much better build thread!

Hi everyone. I am seeking some parts for my Bobcat

Does anyone have, in any condition
1. Canopy
2. Engine mounts
3. The manual

I would prefer the parts for the yellow version but really I don't care. I will of course pay the postage

This thread is not about a BVM Bobcat, but the Nitro Models version which is a clone generally known as the Falcon 120.

Actually, THIS thread is about the smaller 50 powered version, not the 120. - John.

Has anyone attempted to tint the canopy on the Bobcat 50? I have the yellow/blue/red kit. The canopy is clear and I'd like to tint it yellow. Has anyone had any success tinting the Bobcat 50 canopy with Rit dye?

Do you still have it & it's broken or have you lost it?

Mine was broken, I repaired it, fitted a balsa base for support & painted it. - John.

Not so I am afraid John, it may well have morphed into the 50 version, but when it was started it was about the 120, if not why is it in the Jet Forum.

Parkflyerplastics.com has Falcon / Bobcat canopies.

They are clear unpainted plasitc, though you can do what you want with them.

opjose,

I looked on this website and didn't see anything that would work.

The "Falcon 56" canopy is far too small to fit my Bobcat. Am I looking in the wrong place perhaps?

Be careful, have you got the chinese Bobcat 50?

If so the canopy you show is for a BVM Bobcat, much bigger than the model you have.
Canopies can be trimmed to fit, of course, but the Bobcat 50 has a moulded recess
in the fuselage where the canopy fits, don't know if you can achieve a proper fit with a larger,
trimmed canopy.

if not why is it in the Jet Forum
I suppose it's in the jet forum because from page one people were discussing turbine conversions
of the smaller Bobcat 50 using a Wren 44, which I have in mine. No big deal, both the Bobcat 50 and
the Falcon 120 are low cost IC airframes convertable to turbine power. - John.

Ok not sure if this will help the opening on mine is 13 in (333mm) long x 3  1/4 (80mm) in the centre wide and I do have an 8mm lip all the way round. So I will email BVM Jets to see if I can get the size from them

Else anyone else go any idea's as $30 + postage is going to hurt
