RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?
For what it is worth the Tower .75 just purchased turns a 11 x 7p APC prop at 14,700 rpm. The engine probably needs more prop. Also the low speed seemed unusually fat after working with it until time ran out. Will work more with the low speed tomorrow.

RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?
I another thread in extreme speed prop planes essentially the same question was asked about the prop for the TH .75. As I posted there the best performance I have had was with the 12x6 zinger. But they break easy. I have put in an email request to APC to please make some 12x6 and 13x6 pusher props for these types of applications maybe if others joined in they would. Another suggestion was the graupner 11x8 which I may give a shot.
Here is what I sent APC:

Hi,
Please consider making some 12x6 and 13x6 pusher props for engines such as the Tower Hobbies .75. The only option I have found in this category is the zinger 12x6 pusher which gives great results but is too fragile. There are many pusher models that are popular these days and many modelers are using Tower and Os .75 engines. The prop of choice has been the APC 11x7 because of availability but it does not load the engine enough.
PS

Applies to one of the planes I referred to and is a huge thread with a great deal of interest (147 pages long).

I believe that Opjose is getting very good results with the Graupner 11x8p. I've ordered them already, but haven't had time to test them with my OS 75ax yet. The APC 11x7 screams with the OS 75. I believe that you should be able to get about 13k with this combination.

SinCityJets...I posted your link for the Bobcat/Falcon .25 turbine video in the other RC ???? website where we actually discuss the Bobcat .25 electric/nitro, well mostly electric. I thought the guys would like to see what Kolibiri is up to.
Are you offering any discount or financing options? :-) LOL

I apologize for not responding sooner. I don't usually track this thread and didn't see your post.
Unfortunately, there isn't much mark up in these turbines. As you probably already know, they are pretty difficult to come by, and a second-hand market doesn't exist (at this time). These turbines seem to be like fine watches. once you have one, you just keep flying it. I have never been as impressed with a mechanical object as I have with these turbines.
What I can offer is outstanding support and quick delivery!!

Wonder if there will be any more Bob Cat’s produced this year? If not I am looking for a yellow fuselage as a spare.

Hello Chad,
I'm just catching up on this thread... just found it. Could you point me to the post about the Turbines, or a link to where I could check them out on the web? Are you talking about the full-sized Bobcat or the smaller Falcon/Bobcat 25?
Thanks.
Bob

RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?
Is the factory that makes the bobcats even still in business?
Since I started making pulsejets for these ARFs (and the Long-EZ), all supply of them seems to have dried up so now I'm looking for new airframes.
I'm wondering if they might have been the product of one of the growing number of Chinese ARF-makers that have ceased trading in recent months.

I loved the vid on the last posting on the last page... like the comment says - here's a $3000 turbine in a $80 plane...

I paid about $50.00 for my Bobcat 25 well add $15.00 for shipping.
I wondered if a $300.00 Dub Jett engine was over kill (moneywise)

Hi Brian,
Make a new one from 2mm balsa. I've got a few pictures of my installation in this thread. As it is, the wheel wells don't fit properly.

Thanks Cyborg. Problem is, I am building the plane for someone and this is the second one I have built for him. He was really happy with the first one, so He might want it built the same way. I better try and find the stock wheel first.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

It's post #3473, page 139. Hope it works for you as well. I painted the balsa grey to match the monokote.

I think I still have mine, but it's been cut to accomodate my springairs. If you want it, I'll look for it and ship it to you, just pay for the shipping. Let me know.

RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?
For you guys looking for another bobcat 50, there's quite a few on sale in ebay. Store selling them is hobby4less, and they've got some listed for about 140$ including shipping. Hope this helps.
